In Review: Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette | Swatches

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow PaletteToo Faced are a brand that I’ve been desperate to try for some time now. I finally got a good taster of the brand over Christmas when I picked up the Better Than Sex Mascara and then finally received the Chocolate Bar palette that was top of my wishlist for a while. Whilst I may have more than enough neutral eyeshadow palettes for the time being, I couldn’t resist this chocolate themed and scented (!) palette. Rightly so, it has been a very well welcomed palette into my collection and one I would highly suggest for those neutral eyeshadow lovers out there!

Too Faced chocolate bar eyeshadow palette swatches reviewStarting with all the outer packaging details. If you are familiar with the Too Faced brand then I am sure you will be aware of their fun and well thought out packaging. With a chocolate theme, Too Faced have designed this palette with that in mind with a cute brown chocolate bar shaped hard casing with a magnetic closure. The palette is actually pretty weighty too but not overly bulky. Inside features a mirror on one side of the palette which personally isn’t of interest to me but I am sure it appeals to many. The palette itself retails for £39 which isn’t too bad considering it offers 16 shades particularly in comparison to the UD Naked palettes.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette SwatchesThe palette features a mix of both matte and shimmer shades as well as two larger sized lighter highlighting shades. I have absolutely no complains surrounding the formulas of the shadows, the mattes are beautifully buttery and soft whilst the shimmers are pigmented and smooth. I definitely recommend the Too Faced eyeshadow formula from using this palette and I definitely want to try more of their palettes! The shades have the most perfect names, all chocolate inspired with the likes of Salted Caramel, Milk Chocolate, Triple Fudge etc. Infused with cocoa powder, the shadows also have an amazing cocoa scent to make the palette seem even more edible! The shades are pretty warmed toned and mostly all wearable. Some of my favourites include, Champagne Truffle; a gorgeous champagne-y highlight shade, Milk Chocolate; the perfect soft matte brown shade and Creme Brulee and Hazelnut; two shimmery gold-y bronze shades. I sound like I am describing a box of chocolates! Overall, a gorgeous wearable palette all with great workable formulas, I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Dear Santa…

Christmas Wishlist

With the advent chocolates being well consumed and the winter weather arriving, Christmas is well and truly upon us. With my Christmas shopping nearly done and out the way (I shared a few suitable gift options here), I thought it was time to show you all what I have on my list this Christmas. As you would expect there is a few beauty bits in the mix so Santa if you are listening…

First up comes from my makeup queen of 2015, Charlotte Tilbury. What’s a wishlist without a bit of CT thrown in the mix!? Anyway I’ve had my eye on her gorgeous quad palettes for too long now and thought Christmas was the perfect opportunity to ask for one of these beauties. The one that I’ve always wished for is the beautiful Dolce Vita quad with a mix of dark shades, a light highlight shade and the most gorgeous gold glitter that would look amazing over Christmas time! The eyeshadows are meant to be pretty good quality too so I would ever so love to get my hands on it!

I feel like it’s my own tradition every year to get a new pair of trainers. I always seem to ask for a new pair or I tend to buy some during the January sales so obviously this year is no exception. Over the last year I have definitely started my love affair with all things Adidas and I absolutely adore their shoes. The Adidas Superstars are like the perfect pair of trainers (in my eyes anyway), monochrome , basic but stylish that will go with almost anything. I think a pair of trainers is a great staple to have and I know I would wear the life out of these!

Christmas is always the best time to ask for those makeup palettes that you could never make the splurge on. I can’t even remember how long I’ve really wanted the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette but finally it may be mine. Warm eyeshadow tones are right up my street so this palette would be a great addition to my makeup stash. The palette also apparently has a chocolate scent so I think we are onto a winner here!

I am not really one to splurge on a new fragrance for myself. I always tend to wait until times like Christmas and birthdays to ask instead and this year I would love to get my long time favourite back again! If I had to name my holy grail scent it would be Thierry Mugler Alien without a doubt. I have a poor empty bottle sitting abandoned on my table and a new one would be very well welcomed! To go alongside, I would love to get the Alien Essence Absolue body balm. After a little trip to the fragrance counter I had a little look at this and fell in love. The scent was as I expected and was pretty strong for a body balm so I am looking forward to giving this a try!

What is on your Christmas wishlist?
