Brands I Want To Try in 2017

makeup, flatlay, sephora pro brush 55, origins, skincare, charlotte tilbury lipstick, chanel, ysl, sunday riley luna, ted baker, magic foundation, diptyque, white companyLong time, no see! I have been essentially buried under uni deadlines so I do apologise for leaving this place rather abandoned but hopefully I should be back posting again more regularly *fingers crossed* Anyway we may be in March already but I am still talking about the fact that it is 2017! Being a beauty hoarder enthusiast, I am always looking at new products and brands to try. Despite trying so many products, there is still plenty of brands that I am desperate to try out so I thought I would share what is next on my wishlist…

Estee Lauder

Estee Lauder is such a classic beauty brand yet their makeup line has always seemed to be under my radar. They have so many classic cult products including the ever so popular Double Wear foundation, yet I am still yet to delve into the brand. I have actually already made a purchase, being the Double Wear Brush-On Glow BB Highlighter so this brand will quickly be ticked off my list. However, there is still many products I would love to get my hands on!

Products to try: Double Wear Light Foundation, Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick, Pure Colour Envy Blush (ooo that ombre!) and DayWear BB creme.

Tom Ford

If there is one beauty brand I’ve been desperate to try for far too long it is Tom Ford. I mean who wouldn’t want one of those luxurious products in their stash!? The entire range from packaging to colour range is stunning although does come with a very steep price tag which is the main reason I haven’t caved yet! However, there is just far too many positive reviews on the brand and a tube of TF lippy would really look the part on my dressing table…

Products to try: Matte Lip Colour, Eye Colour Quad (Nude Dip looks gorgeous!) and Nail Lacquer (African Violet is top of the wishlist!)

charlotte tilbury, hot lips, kissing, matte revolution, lipstick collection, soap and glory, sephora air foundation brush 55, magic foundation

Giorgio Armani

Another luxurious brand that I have heard so much about is Armani. Again the range simply looks the part as you would expect from the luxury brand. They also have a great range of unique products that could certainly be welcomed into my makeup collection. Again their products are pricey but the brand always appear to have nailed it on quality!

Products to try: Eye Tint, Lip Magnet, Lip Maestro, and Power Fabric foundation.

Dior

There seems to be a luxury theme to this list, apologies, I really am the worst influence on my bank account! Again I’ve heard so much about the amazing Dior makeup range yet I still have not managed to try anything out! Their products are also gorgeous to look at which is always nice! From their bases to their lip collection, there is so many hyped cult products that I just need to get my hands on!

Products to try: Addict Lip Glow, Creme De Rose Lip Balm, Nude BB Cream and Star Fluid foundation.

What brands would you like to try?

The Bag Wishlist

luxury-bag-wishlist-designer-saint-laurent-ysl-gucci-celine-valentino-chanel

I’ve always been a bag kinda gal at heart, bags over shoes anyday! My dreams of owning a designer bag have existed for too many years now and I think it’s time I did something about that, right!? Being a Leo, I do have expensive taste and I do like a little bit of luxury so whilst a designer bag may require a good few wage slips, it is still something I am happy to invest in. You either get it or you don’t but for me it’s the kinda thing I like. Having got hooked onto luxury style YouTube channels which I mentioned here, I am ready to take the leap into saving for my first designer bag. So what is it going to be, well I thought I would show you some (yes just some) of the bags that have topped my wishlist!

Starting with the bag of dreams, a Chanel Classic Flap. Every bag lover needs a Chanel, right!? Now the price for Chanel is eye-watering and sadly it tends to increase year on year making it near impossible to buy one. However hopefully one day, whilst it is not on my immediate list (for obvious reasons) I will be able to visit a Chanel store in Paris (yup, going all out!) and pick up my very own. Then I will be one step closer to being LC, life goals right there!

Another bag of dreams that I just need in my life is the Saint Laurent Sac De Jour. This bag is simply beautiful, black grained leather possibly in size small please. Again it is one of the more pricier options on my list but having this bag would make me complete. Hopefully I can save up for this one once I graduate as a special treat cause you gotta treat yo self.

Now I mentioned that I prefer my bags over shoes but if there was one pair of shoes I would like to get my hands on then it would be the classic Valentino Rockstuds. Of course with those I need a bag to match, it’s only right! I adore the Valentino Rockstud Lock Shoulder Bags, particularly the light nude pink-y shade which would match my shoes obviously! The bag just looks so beautifully elegant with the gold hardware, I need!

I usually tend to avoid seasonal pieces and trend-led items and I would particularly advice to when opting for a spendy purchase however I have my eye on one. The Gucci Dionysus Shoulder bag is a classic but I have never really been a fan of the whole Gucci monogram style however I adore some of their Floral design options. It is a bit different and totally a statement piece but it is so beautiful! I have been actually really impressed by some the newer Gucci styles recently too!

Lastly, a much cheaper option than the rest, the Celine Trio. I adore the whole minimalistic Celine aesthetics and I just love how simple but chic this bag is. Everyone needs a good crossbody small style bag and this is such a great option. The three compartments is also incredibly handy but I can imagine pretty annoying when you have to get your bag searched! A good all rounder though!

2016 Beauty Wishlist

2016 Beauty Wishlist

New year, new beauty, right!? At least I am sure that’s how it works! As 2016 is in full swing, it’s time to look at my wishlist picks for the year ahead. How exciting! I was actually looking back at my 2015 wishlist before writing this up and of course in real Lauren fashion I successfully ticked everything off my list! 2015 resolutions made, eh!? Although this year I am trying to ease down when it comes to beauty purchases, in a bid to try become more of a saver rather than a spender so hopefully purchases are more to a minimal this year! Nevertheless, I still have a little wishlist of items that I am desperate to get my hands on sooner rather than later!

First up, the cult favourite sponge that just everyone and their dog raves about, the Beauty Blender. To be honest I never quite understood the hype around a sponge, I mean surely it is just a sponge!? Although after a bitter start with my Real Techniques sponge turning into a everyday used tool, I gained a lot of interest in this little pink egg. I have heard so many people say that it is far superior to the RT version so I guess there is only one way to find out!

A lipstick that has been on my radar for far to long is the Nars Audacious lipstick in the shade Anna. I’ve heard a lot of good things about these lipsticks and being one of my favourite brands Nars never seems to disappoint! The shade Anna looks gorgeous too and such a great everyday shade being a mauve pink.

I am always up for trying new bases and this year I have two from Charlotte Tilbury on my list. I am a huge fan of CT products, as I am sure you are already aware! Although I have never got round to trying her base products and her two foundations sound exactly what I am looking for. Firstly, the newer Magic foundation was launched last year as basically the perfect foundation with great coverage but whilst remaining weightless and natural on the skin. I really have high hopes for that one! The other is the Light Wonder foundation, her first foundation in her makeup line. This is more of a dewy lightweight foundation so I would really like to try this too having heard great things and also developing a love for those lighter bases.

I do find it a little difficult to part with my cash when it comes to more expensive nail polishes although I am desperate to get my hands on one of those gorgeous Smith & Cult polishes. Again I’ve only heard good things regarding these shades and whilst they are pricey they look so gorgeous. Stockholm Syndrome and Bitter Buddhist is on the list, the first being a gorgeous grey-ish lilac shade and the latter a gorgeous spring mint shade.

Lastly, towards the end of 2015 I started to develop a little thing for liquid lipsticks and I am still looking out to try basically every one on the market. I love a good Mac lip product as much as the next gal so I couldn’t hide my excitement towards the new Mac Retro Matte Liquid lipsticks! I just adore the Mac packaging and the fact these have the typical Mac black lipstick top. There is a pretty good shade selection too and my heart is calling out between the two lightest shades in the collection; LadyBe Good and Back in Vogue which both look gorgeous everyday shades. I need!

Skincare Wishlist

Skincare Wishlist

It’s not been long since my last wishlist post but here I am again with another one. This time around though we are talking all about skincare. This time last year I really had a next to nothing interest in skincare. I always felt so overwhelmed with the many serums, oils and creams out there that all claimed to be the bee’s knees. I never ever imagined I would be the person splurging on a daily moisturiser but I thought the same about makeup and look how that turned out… So of course I have now went down the same route with skincare lusting after high end brands and fancy face masks cause why not! I am still trying to nail down a good skincare routine so for the moment I am testing things out trying to find the perfect products for my skin and I have some products that I would still really like to try out.

Kiehl’s is a brand I’ve heard so much about but never personally have I ventured into as of yet. As you can see there are quite a few products from their range that I would love to get my hands on. The first being an eye cream. Being a young un’ I’ve never really seen the need in eye cream but the under eye area is so delicate and mine could do with a little more moisture. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment has had a lot of loving out there and I would love to try it out myself. The addition of avocado oil sounds super nourishing and a real treat for my under eyes.

Also from Kiehl’s is their Midnight Recovery Oil. I am a huge lover of oils and this is one I’ve been desperate to try for ages. It sounds perfect for injecting a bit of radiance into your skin but also to help clear your skin which is something I could do with. Also as I am looking for a new moisturiser I have heard a lot of good things about the Kiehl’s range. Their Ultra Facial Cream sounds pretty darn good. It’s a small tub at 50ml but I imagine a little would go a long way. I am definitely going to get my hands on this one!

Moving on from Kiehl’s, there is a cult fave amongst my list. Of course it is the Pixi Glow Tonic which everyone and their mum seems to rave about. I’ve been really getting into the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads and this Glow Tonic is meant to be pretty similar. Whilst delivering a bucket of radiance to the skin, it is also said to be good for dealing with breakouts and blemished skin. Basically right up my street and if Caroline Hirons approves then it must be a good un’.

Obviously I couldn’t do this wishlist without mentioning a good face mask. The Australian brand Aesop has such a good range of products in the most beautiful minimalist packaging. Whilst I own their hand cream I would love to try more from the brand. Their Parsley Seed Mask again is very popular in the beauty world (is there a trend here..) and sounds like the perfect face mask for me. This mask is meant to be pretty good for clearing your pores and dealing with blemishes. I still haven’t found a good mask or treatment in my routine to help clear blemishes and who knows this could be the one?

Lastly, is a cleanser from Oskia. Oskia have also had a lot of loving lately and they are a brand I’ve been so desperate to try out particularly their Renaissance Cleansing Gel. All their products sound super luxurious and sometimes we need a little luxury for our face, right? I love oil based cleansers and when applied to the skin this Oskia gel forms into an oil. This may be one for the SpaceNK points!

A Charlotte Tilbury Haul

Charlotte Tilbury HaulSo if you seen my birthday beauty wishlist then you may remember knowing that I had my eye on a few Charlotte Tilbury products. Although let’s be honest here, I always have my eye on Charlotte Tilbury products! Anyway if you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen that those items got well and truly crossed off the wishlist! So after doing a bit of testing (obviously right the minute the postman sent them through the door) I thought I would share my thoughts on my new CT pieces that have heart-eyed emojis written all over them.

First up is one of her amazing matte revolution lipsticks from her Summer 2015 Norman Parkinson collection. As you can see I went for the nude option being Miss Kensington. Her matte lipstick range really is like no other. With a creamy smooth application and a comfortable feeling on the lips it’s hard to believe it’s a matte formula. The shade Miss Kensington is the perfect nude. It is one of those ‘my lips but better’ shades. It really is a perfect everyday shade with an amazing moisturising formula.

Probably one of the most hyped Charlotte Tilbury products going is her Lip Cheat lip liner in Pillow Talk. With a lot of lip lining loving (major tongue-twister alert) going on recently I had to pick it up. The shade Pillow Talk is again the perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade. It really is a very natural pink shade that matches super well with my own lip colour. The formula is super creamy and glides easily on the lips therefore creating much fuller lips is a breeze. It also works as a perfect nude combo alongside Miss Kensington.

Lastly, I picked up one of her Colour Chameleon eyeshadow pencils. The shade range is specifically aimed at different eye colours to help enhance your eyes. For each eye colour, there is a day and night shade option so naturally I picked up the shade Champagne Diamonds, a day time shade for those with blue eyes. Obviously you don’t need to stick to the suggested shades but I loved the look of the champagne toned shimmer. The shade is just gorgeous and looks perfect in the inner corner. As a light wash over the lids it appears a little too sheer on me and more just glittery but built up heavily it can create a gorgeous shimmery lid that would look beautiful during the festive season! The formula isn’t as creamy as the By Terry counterparts but being a lot cheaper it still has a easy glide on formula that can be easily blended out. I am totally up for trying some of the more intense shades out!

Birthday Beauty Wishlist

c700x700 (1)So while August may mark the month of going back to school, the ending of summer it also marks something else special (for me anyway). August is my birthday month *celebration dance* So of course that means lots of cake and the perfect opportunity to have a little splurge on some of my wish list goodies. Like all us beauty junkies, the beauty wishlist is never ending but I thought I would share with you all some of the products at the top of my list that hopefully I will pick up during the month as a little birthday treat!

First up is a new lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury cause you can’t have a wishlist without CT and if you’re gonna treat yourself this is the definition of treat yo’ self. Now I do have a couple of CT lipsticks that I would love to get my hands on but Miss Kensington, a gorgeous nude pink makes top of the list as it is a limited edition release… even more reason to purchase! The formula of these are amazing and this colour is so up my street!

Now I constantly hear about how amazing Mac eyeshadows are yet I haven’t purchased a single one. I am so desperate to start my own palette and I want to make a little quad first. Two eyeshadows I would like to get my hands on are Blackberry and Cork which both look super pretty! What Mac eyeshadows do you recommend?

Now time for the ultimate lust worthy product. The gorgeous Tartelette palette. Now I have heard so much regarding the Tarte brand but I’ve still not made a purchase since its pretty tricky to get a hold of in the UK. Luckily though QVC are a UK stockist of Tarte and one item I am desperate to get a hold of is this gorgeous all matte palette. I was never much of a matte eyeshadow fan with my heart more towards shimmery finishes although the look of this palette completely changed my mind. I just need matte in my life. Annoyingly though this is now out of stock, please QVC I need this palette, its my birthday!

Of course I couldn’t just stick with one CT product! One product I’ve been dying to try for so long is of course the well hyped Pillow Talk lip liner. The formula of these are meant to be spot on and the colour looks gorgeous so why not! Also I love the look of her Colour Chameleon eyeshadow sticks! The shades are supposed work with your eye colour and make your eyes pop. Since I have blue eyes I would love to try Champagne Diamonds which is a beautiful champagne pearly shade that would lovely for both during the day and at night.

Spring Clothing Wishlist

Spring Clothing Wishlist
You may have seen my beauty Spring wishlist but now its time to look at my recent clothing wishlist. Looking at my picks, they aren’t the most obvious spring inspired pieces, sorry I am pretty boring and like wearing dark clothing! Anyway on to my picks…
Topshop Moto Black Short Dungarees – Dungarees are not something I ever thought I would be sporting again since I was about 5 but I seem to have took quite the loving for them in the last year. I kept getting put off them but they seem so effortless and a style that I don’t think will leave us any time soon. Being black denim they can go with pretty much anything, so hopefully I can add these to my wardrobe to release my inner Alexa Chung.
Weekday Chidi Tee – There is no denying I love a bit of stripes. They look so stylish yet they are so effortless to be paired with a pair of skinnies and flats, I’m so in love ❤ I’ve been looking for a good quality striped top for a while and after coming across the brand Weekday I’ve basically fell in love with them too, they have such great basics! I know without a doubt this top won’t be the only thing I buy from Weekday!
Topshop Scarf Border Print Top – Fingers crossed Topshop get more stock in of this beautiful printed top. I have another top from Topshop which is incredibly similar to this, just a different print. Its such a pretty colourful print that can worn dressed down during the day or for going out.
Birkenstock Arizona Leather Sandals – These sandals have got me in a bit of umms and ahhs. I keep seeing them around on the likes of Pinterest and other blogs and they look ever so cool, the basic black sandal going with pretty much anything as well as being comfy. The only thing is I’m still torn about them, are they one of those ‘ugly’ sandals? I’m not so sure, what do you think?
Topshop Moto Black Rinse Jamie Jeans – A pretty boring but essential piece. A pair of black skinny jeans. I am lacking a good pair of black jeans at the minute and I am looking for a good quality option that will last me a long while. As usual I have turned to Topshop although I am still looking around on this option. I usually get the Topshop Joni jeans but I think the quality is slightly lacking as mine always seem to stretch after washing and lose their structure so I am considering the Jamie jeans which I have tried before.
Cheap Monday Halo Tee – I am really looking into investing in some good quality basics especially t-shirts and this one from Cheap Monday fits the bill perfectly. It has a boxy structure and a pocket which makes this on trend and stylish. It would help achieve that effortless look teamed with some skinny jeans and many some Birkenstocks, eh?
So what is on your clothing wishlist for Spring?

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne

Jo Malone Pomegranate NoirIt’s been a long time coming but I finally checked this one off my wishlist. I have heard so much about the Jo Malone scents and I couldn’t wait to add one to my collection. Something I love about the range is the varied unique scents that are totally different to the usual familiar scents of the fragrance industry. I took a trip to a Jo Malone counter not too long ago for a little sniff around of the scents and fell pretty much in love with the Pomegranate Noir scent. When it comes to fragrances, I do like something really different and quite dark so this was totally up my street.

The top note in this scent is obviously Pomegranate, the heart note contains Casablanca Lily and the base note is Guaiacwood. The pomegranate gives the scent a rich fruity feel with the lilies giving it that heady and powerful scent that I love. The addition of Guaiacwood gives it that slight spiciness and sensuality. It has quite a masculine feel to it without being too much. If you aren’t a fan of any scents which are heady and quite overpowering this one is probably one to avoid. For me though its just perfect.

Jo Malone doesn’t come cheap with a 30ml bottle costing £40 with the packaging and scent making this a luxurious treat or the perfect gift. Talking of packaging, how incredibly cute is the ribbon tied box!? The slim small bottle is also ideal for handbags and traveling unlike many other bulky fragrances. I am basically in love with this scent and I can see myself making another trip to that Jo Malone counter again shortly!

Are you a fan of Jo Malone?

Spring Wishlist

Spring WishlistForever making wish-lists… Yup its time for another! With Spring just around the corner and the nights getting lighter and the sun appearing *shocked face* its time to rock the fresh glowy faced look with touch of coral (ah dreamy <3). Anyway as usual when it comes to wishlists (well mine anyway) its full of expensive guilt-worthy high end products I don’t really need but hey they would be nice 🙂 Now on to the list…
Nars Sheer Glow – I apologize if I keep batting on about how much I want this one in my life. I think its probably been in every wishlist I’ve created and I’ve still not bought it *oops!*. Anyway this one will officially be ticked off this season as I have a SpaceNK voucher and I need this so it makes sense, right!?
Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir – Ahh beautiful! I am forever hearing about the beauty that is Jo Malone fragrances. I went to the Jo Malone counter not too long ago to have a little sniff around and spotted this popular but beautifully scented gem. Its not the most spring-y scent but I like it and I want it, nuff said.
Burberry Pale Barley Eyeshadow – Can you tell I am forever a suck up to blogger hype!? I keep seeing this beauty everywhere and it looks ever so beautiful. Its always described as the ‘one wash wonder’ eyeshadow which seems great for me on my morning rush. Its a pricey one but its Burberry and its damn beautiful!
Benefit Majorette Blush – Another one I’ve had on the wishlist for too long! This was released last year and I am still hearing good things about it. It really is the perfect spring blush; coral with a cream-to-powder finish, perfection it seems!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat – I have yet to take the plunge into anything Hourglass yet mostly because they are quite far out of my budget but c’mon! These blushes truly are gorgeous as well as pretty much every other Hourglass product! Again this glowy blush looks perfect for Spring and a great intro to the Hourglass brand!
So what is on your spring wishlist?
