Versace RTW Fall 2015

Versace 1

Versace 2

Versace 3

Versace 4Versace is a brand I have always admired in terms of their creative direction (and their perfumes!) but in terms of their collections they never really scream out to me personally until I seen this collection for Fall 2015. The show started out very simple and chic with a collection of black pinstripe office style wear with suits, jackets and pencil skirts. Each look had a slight pop of colour injected which seemed to be an indication of what was to come.

Thereafter was an explosion of colour onto the runway. Bold hues took over through a collection of capes and coats with 60s style wide belts. The 60s theme continued with a range of geometric prints and the silhouettes took an interesting turn with cutouts and high slits up the leg. The collection certainty carried the Versace name not only through the style but it was clearly emblazoned on a number of pieces through the collection.

The end of the show was really the wow moment for me. Mainly black based mini dresses and sheer tops featuring rainbow hued embellishments stole it for me. Donatella certainty showed her inspiration of the digital age with hash-tag and ‘@’ symbolism embellished on the designs. Karlie Kloss sported the winner for me with a sheer top halved dress featuring a range of Technicolor embellishments which certainly was a fresh take on the classic LBD. The collection was bold, bright, current and had the Versace name all over it (literally). Check out the rest of the collection here.

Versace Crystal Noir

IMG_5760Now if you had seen my Christmas wishlist well you may have remembered seeing this beauty. The Versace Crystal Noir EDP. Well as you can see my wishes certainly came true as this beautiful jeweled top bottle is sitting rather nicely on top of my dressing table. I first became familiar with this strong scent a few years ago while going on the ultimate fragrance hunt in Boots, lets just say I left with quite a “few” perfume samples. At first I wasn’t the biggest fan of this scent but the overwhelming scent left quite a mark after leaving the sample in a drawer to gather dust. A few years on and I have since been dying to get my hands on it, Christmas 2014 was my time.

Now in terms of describing scents I am no expert, I just tend to go with that smells damn good or no I don’t like that but I will try my best on this one. It is very different to any scent I have ever owned, its a very strong and sophisticated scent. It definitely lives up to the Versace image with a very feminine, seductive and powerful feel to it. It has a strong floral scent to it with notes of gardenia, amber and tuberose. It has a long lasting scent which is just what I am looking for, however it may not live up to my all time favourite fragrance Alien by Thierry Mugler but its close enough. In my fragrance terms, I’m loving it!

What is your favourite scent?

Christmas Wish List

Christmas Wish List

Can you believe its less than three weeks until Christmas! Christmas is by far my favourite time of the year, I just love the atmosphere and all the events in the run up to the big day. Anyway of course there is always a little gift giving across Christmas and I have put together just a few things I would quite like to own. Some of these items you may recall me mentioning them before in other posts but sadly they just haven’t came my way yet!
Benefit They’re Real Mascara – Its one of the most raved about mascaras in the beauty world and I want to try it out for myself. I love the Benefit Bad Gal lash mascara and would love to give this one a try.
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette – Well obvious one here, I picked up the original naked palette and the third one this year and with one left to get its no surprise this is on my list!
Versace Crystal Noir – I have been failing quite recently in the perfume department, I am really in need of a good strong bottle of scented stuff. This scent is quite different for me but its strong and dark.
Real Techniques Eye Starter Kit – If you seen my Fave brushes post not too long ago you will know I am a huge fan of the Real Techniques brushes and one thing I don’t own is any of their eye brushes. I would love to add these to my collection and hopefully they are as good as their other brushes.
What is on your wish list this Christmas?

My Summer Wishlist

My Summer Wishlist
As usual I have been browsing the web looking at pretty much every retailer you can think of in search of my next purchases. Above (and below) are some of my most wanted products that I hope to be picking up soon!
If you have any of these products then please do give your personal reviews, I would love to hear them 🙂
1. Fine one-one – Benefit Cosmetics – I first seen this product on TV and was quite fascinated by the idea of it. Its a three-tone lip and cheek tint and is easy to use by
just swiping the cute product along your cheeks/lips. It can be used for a blusher and a highlighter in just one simple stroke which makes this product seem very appealing.
2. Satchel – River Island – I am very much a bag person and I currently lack in a good quality small bag that can be used daily for
going to the shops etc and I love satchels and this cute little bag from River Island is a must for me and would go with almost anything.
3. Cream Lace Mac – Topshop – Topshop have had a number of cute plastic macs in this season and this one is incredibly cute and girly with a lace print.
The macs are perfect for summer as they are lightweight and can help in the unexpected lash of rain! It is quite pricey at £52/$95 so I will have to be saving my pennies!!
4. Makeup Brushes – Forever 21 – I am really in need of some new makeup brushes and these brushes from Forever 21 are purse friendly and have a cute
polka dot design. Defos snapping these up!
5. Versace Crystal Noir Perfume – I love a good perfume and having finished a bottle of Thierry Mugler Alien I need a new high end perfume and this one from
Versace is quite different from my usual taste with strong scent however its feminine and seems to be long-lasting.
6. Bourjois Lip Crayon – Peach on the beach – I am in need of a light pink shaded lip stick and I’ve heard plenty of good reviews about this particular product and
I have always wanted to try the lip crayon which has become quite popular recently. The colour is light and perfect for day-to-day makeup.
7. Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow Taupe – I am not much of an eyeshadow wearer but I would like to add more colour to my eyes and this product which is cream gel based has came to great reviews and
a long lasting finish and the cream gel finish seems more bolder than the typical powder eyeshadow.

Its time to raid your 90s wardrobe for Biker boots, leather jackets and trousers to fit in with the crowd this season. Versace: Spring 2014 RTW

Milan is known for its high fashion and prestigious designer brands like Versace who took to the runway this week. Versace is one of those brands that to see one of their collections you could easily spot a mile off that it was a Versace collection with its trademark and typical styles. There was quite a harsh look in the collection especially for Spring with studded detail and black being a prominent color in the collection. However the collection did light up a bit with multi-coloured print and light shades of lilac, blue and yellow to bring out the spring in the collection. Overall quite a different collection compared to many I have seen for next season but still on top form for Versace. Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.

Met Ball 2012 Best Dressed

This week of course was the very much anticipated Met Ball in New York. When you think the gowns and sparkles are all over from award season you are all wrong, if you look at the pictures below i think that will explain why.  The theme this year was Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations and of course there was many A-listers decked out in the finest fashions. Below i have picked some of my favorite looks from the night. Credit to Daily Mail( Getty) and Hollywood Life.

Emma Stone went short in a red Lanvin number to show off her amazing pins. Her hair also looked fab neatly tucked up making her look perfect for a tea party!

January Jones also looked amazing in a yellow Versace gown teamed with a turquoise necklace and her hair looked perfect with the outfit but was simple to keep the dress the main attraction.

Jessica Alba .. what can i say the moment i seen this i was like omg she is absolutely gorgeous and that dress on her is just wow! The colour of her hair and the gold from the dress is just a killer combination . The Grecian-style one-shoulder is by Michael Kors and was teamed with a gold bangle and dangling gold earrings.

And last but not least was Katherine McPhee in one of my favourite designers – Elie Saab. I love this dress, it shows off her amazing figure and the colour is just perfect. Its teamed with a gold bangle & clutch and a belt of a lighter orange. While I love the outfit, one thing i am not too keen on is her hair, it looks slightly messy like bedhair, i think this look would be completed by a sleek pulled back into a bun.

Worst Dressed of the Grammy Awards 2012

Now here is my worst dressed! I am only going to show 3 of the worst looks but sadly i have to say there was a lot of not so pretty looks on the red carpet on Sunday night! Do you agree with me ? Who do you think was the worst dressed ? Credit to gossip.whyfame.com and mystylebell.com for images.

This is just horrible ! Its from the Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring 2012 collection which i actually did a post on not that long ago. The dress isn’t as bad on the model from the runway show but I’m still not a fan of the fact that its see-through ! I don’t really want to see your underwear thanks , it would be a lot nicer if there was a layer of red sheath underneath and the model is sporting a red haired updo which i really like and i think Fergie should have been more adventurous with her hair.

Ahhhhh !!!! What the hell is with those shoes !!?? This outfit is just a disaster !! starting with the big lumberjack style ridiculous looking boots.. Who the hell would wear these and especially to a red carpet event like the Grammys!!! Robyn has serious problems. This is just so embarrassing !! She is then took an oversized white tee and slapped on a white mullet style skirt which looked terrible and as if she has picked up a piece of white fabric and just sewn it on to the back of her skirt !! This outfit is a wreck !

Oh God ! Just when you thought at least it could get a little better .. What the hell is this ! Nicki Minaj not only sported a stupid looking Versace red riding hood style cloak but she also had a man dressed as the pope on her arm.. Sorry but i cant even go into detail on this its a disaster :S

Best Dressed of the Golden Globes 2012

Can i first of all say sorry for the delay in this post i have just been so busy so sorry! Now anyway it was the golden globes about 2 weeks ago and there was some amazing and some not so amazing looks on the red carpet. So i will start off with the best. Credit to Daily Mail (Getty) and iamboigenius.

My first favorite which is probably my all round favorite is Nicole Kidman in this stunning metallic beaded Versace gown. I remember seeing this for the first time and thinking Wow ! that dress is just gorgeous and in comparison to all the other looks i had already seen i was thanking the lord for this cause its just amazing and looks great on Nicole. The gold colour goes great with her goldenish hair and she has accessoried well with just a simple gold bangle to keep the focus on the dress and a plain gold clutch.

Another one of my favorites is Paula Patton in this gorgeous bright yellow Monique Lhuillier mermaid gown. The colour is just beautiful and has been accessoried perfectly to allow the dress centre-stage with a simple small gold clutch and silver earrings and a bracelet to give it an even balance. The shape of the dress looks great too with it showing off her fabulous figure from its tightly wrapped design.

And last but not least Salma Hayek adds to my list of best dressed in this stunning Black and gold Gucci gown. Similar to the previous two she has kept accessories to a minimum and stuck with simple but still lovely Lorraine Schwartz gold earrings and a black clutch with a gold lining to keep the colour effects from the dress. Her hair also balances the look and makes it the perfect colour to add to the golden designed bodice of the dress.
