September Playlist

September PlaylistI have lost count of the amount of times I have went to call this post ‘August playlist’. Time is clearly flying past faster than I know it! I’ll leave my monthly chat until Monday’s post as it’s time once again to reflect on what I’ve had blaring out the speakers this month. Like last month it’s a bit of a mix and goes from the extreme of one genre to another. I’ve been listening to a couple of newer tunes from some of my old favourites Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco. Both bands will never get old and I still continue to enjoy their newer releases. I also caught up with a couple of tracks from Imagine Dragon’s newest album which I am liking but I still need to give the album a proper listen. Of course what would my playlist be without a couple of those random songs. Time to Say Goodbye has been stuck in my head forever since it features in the Downton Abbey advert so I have had that version on numerous times over the month as well as a Cher Lloyd song that I also really like. Cough Syrup by Young the Giant is such a good song and one I’ve had on repeat for too long as well as Bridge Burn by Little Comets. Two really great songs worth a listen. Little Mix and One Republic also make up the last of my rather mixed up monthly playlist.

June Playlist

June PlaylistIt’s time for another monthly playlist were I give you all a little look into what I’ve been listening to in the past month. Can I just bring up how amazing Alexa Chung looks on the cover of Harpers Bazaar this month! Can I please have her hair! Anyway back to the music, the actual topic of this post. This month has been a bit of lazy one (you may have seen from my Monthly Roundup) so I haven’t really had the patience to sit and listen to any full albums so this month I listened to a lot of stuff that was pretty much repeated on the radio on a daily basis. Chart-topping catchy tunes from Nick Jonas, Jason Derulo and Ariana Grande made the playlist this month despite not having much of an interest in them personally. There is also a bit of an oldie from Fleetwood Mac which I think is such an underrated song of theirs. I also discovered Hozier who have such a unique sound and appeal a lot to me so I will definitely be checking out more of their stuff!

May Playlist

May PlaylistWe are reaching the sixth month of the year… Woah we’re half way there… sorry couldn’t resist. Anyway this month has been a bit of a mix again in terms of my music playlist. As my first year at uni has finally concluded *hallelujah* I haven’t needed to dig out my earphones too much but I have definitely had some background music on the go. This month I have turned back to a favourite of mine: 5 Seconds of Summer or 5SOS. The Australian band released their debut album last year and its hella good. They’ve got quite the Busted style vibe going on, taking me well back to my grand childhood. I have also switched them on as a little preparation for next week as rather excitedly I am going to see them live, woo! I have seen them before when they supported 1D but now I am returning to see them as the main act. I’m pretty damn excited especially since I bought my tickets like a year ago! Also, I have rekindled my love for Mumford and Sons listening to some of their older tracks as well as a little listen into their new stuff. Its pretty good as you would expect if you are a fan of their music. There is also a few other tunes thrown in for good measure which I have also been loving this month.

April Playlist

April PlaylistIts that time of the month again to have a little look into what I have been listening to over the sunny month of April. It’s been a bit of mad mix this month with a couple of throwbacks, a new album discovery and some new upbeat tunes that I cannot help but raise my hands to. The month has been mainly dominated by the wonderfully talented James Bay and this album Chaos and the Calm which is pretty darn fantastic. My faves include Craving, Move Together and Need the Sun to Break, all pretty calming soft tunes that make me want a good guitar lesson or two! A bit of a throwback came from Avril Lavigne, yep I know. I used to listen to Avril back in the day and there is no denying I will always have a space for some of her songs. To round up, there is quite a sad but beautiful one from Labrinth, ‘that’ Sia song, a catchy new one from Meghan Trainor and last but not least that killer remixed version of Omi’s Cheerleader, now that is seriously good stuff!

February Playlist

Another month, another music playlist. This month’s playlist was pretty much dominated by two albums from McBusted and Kodaline. I’m going to see McBusted live next month for the second time *excited dance* and I only got round to listening to their album this month and I love it! The album is very heavily Busted style so if you were a Busted fan you’ll like this! Being a huge Kodaline fan I was super ecstatic for their new album Coming up for Air and I’ve been listening to this non-stop throughout the month. I was a huge fan of their first album In a Perfect World which is one of my favourite albums ever so I had high expectations for the new album. So far so good, I am really loving Honest and The One but I don’t think this album will ever live up to their first one as it has quite a different sound nevertheless I still think its great! There is also a catchy number from Maroon 5 in there, the video for that one is great too!

January Playlist

IMG_6139Having a lot of time off recently for Christmas has made me spend a large part of my time listening to music. With the Christmas music far, far away, this month I’ve been listening to some old favourites and some newbies in the music scene. I have been loving ‘Something I need’ by the X Factor winner Ben Haenow who did a superb cover of the One Republic hit. I also discovered the talented gem that is James Bay who actually performed at the Burberry S/S 2015 show, Burberry always show some amazing artists and I can see James being an artist to watch out for in 2015. I also rediscovered the 1975 with their album being played on repeat the whole month. I also can’t forget to mention Uptown Funk, what a tune!

December Playlist

IMG_5290So I usually do my monthly playlist post at the end of the month however lets be honest the playlist for this month of course is nothing but Christmas music so it would be slightly silly to post it after Christmas, right?

Anyway we are less than a week til Christmas day *shocked face* and one thing to get me in the festive spirit is to listen to some good old Christmas tunes, oh yes! I have made a little Spotify playlist you can check out below full of some of my fave Christmas songs.

There is a bit of everything, some newer songs from Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson and Coldplay and of course some old classics from the likes of Elton John and Band Aid. And not forgetting a few tunes by Mr Christmas himself, Mr Buble – if you haven’t listened to his Christmas album you are missing out, his covers of some great Christmas classics are perfection!
