Christian Dior:Couture Spring 2013

Hello everyone! Before we start can i just say that it was the blog’s 3rd birthday yesterday!!! Yay!! So i have to say Thank you to all the lovely subscribers/ followers or whatever you would like to classify yourself as so thank you very much and I hope you enjoy reading the blog! Anyway enough of the birthday thanks and celebrations as the countdown to NYFW begins here is a look at the Christian Dior Spring Couture Collection that was shown at Paris Couture Fashion Week last week.  There seemed to be a floral theme running through the show as the runway was designed with plants and greenery as well as many of the designs featured in the collection having a floral touch or spring feel to them with bright yellows and reds. The collection also features the gown that Jennifer Lawrence wore to the SAG awards last week which of course made the headlines due to her ‘malfunction’ which happened just before accepting her award. Worst Dressed of the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2012

Well with every best dressed list comes a worst dressed list (unfortunately) and sadly there is always a number of celebs who have come wearing something out their trashcan. This is Busy Phillips if you have no idea of who she is like i did until i seen her and this ghastly outfit. This blue-purpleish number was definitely not suitable for an award show and looked a lot like something you would wear down the beach = not a good look !! Thats all i have to say !

 

Another one on my worst dressed list is Jessica Chastain who again i have no idea of who she is until now obviously. Seems like its always the unknown in the worst dressed section , must be trying to pave their way into the spotlight.. This dress an be easily described in one word that is = BORING! Who would turn up to a glitzy event wearing something that looked like a free blanket you got off a plane with a U shape cut out to add some form of effect which it doesnt!

And last but not least is someone who i have actually heard of – Surprise Shock Horror !!  Its actress Zoe Saldana wearing a Givenchy Couture gown. It may be high fashion but its low in the scale of looking good. It just looks terrible and especially cheap due to the underlay of a tank top underneath her dress

Best Dressed of the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2012

Last night was the SAG Awards in Los Angeles and of course forgetting the winners our eyes were cast on the gowns of the night. So here is the Best dressed of the night. Credit to ladderedtights10.blogspot, ibtimes and celebuzz for images.

My first favorite and probably favorite overall was Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara in this breath taking fuchsia strapless gown by Marchesa . I really can’t explain how stunning this dress is the picture says it all. It has a ruched designed bodice which flows into a draping skirt. The dress looks perfect on Sofia and shows her amazing figure.

My next favorite is The Help actress Viola Davis in this white Grecian style gown by Marchesa aswell. The gown has a golden embroidered strapless bodice which comes into a flowing white skirt. This dress is beautiful and has been well accessoried by keeping it simple with a basic bangle, earrings and a small clutch keeping the attention to the gown.

My third favorite is Kelly Osbourne. This actually seems quite a shock to me as comparing this look to her previous looks including her Golden Globe gown which didn’t go down too well this gown just looks amazing and so sleek and polished on her. The white gown was designed by Badgley Mischka which had beautiful detail on the shoulders aswell as the gathered waist from the gold and white tied belt that looks gorgeous and gives it the finishing touch.
