Pick of the Month: October 2014

I have recently been going crazy over my new tartan plimsolls from River Island. I had been looking at buying a pair of these cute and comfy plimsolls for a while but I was indecisive between plain black or the bold tartan. And then I decided of course I am going to get the tartan ones, perfect for fall. However I did nearly buy both pairs.. oh. Anyway I picked these up on a great deal, getting them for 20% off the £20 price tag for a sweet £16 all due to the neat 20% offer from last month’s Elle magazine. I have been wearing these pretty much everyday since I bought them and they are very comfortable and just add that finishing touch to my outfit. I will be honest .. I am still considering that second pair of plimsolls!

So are you crazy for plimsolls like me?

September Favourites

I can’t be the only one who is struggling to believe that its October already! Where does time go!? Anyway here are my favourites from last month.

River Island Dark Red Mini Satchel – I adore this bag! I picked it up from River Island for £20 in this very autumnal red colour and its the perfect size for going to gigs and places where I don’t need a lot of things to carry about. River Island also have a few other colours of this bag as well as the larger versions which are all to die for.

Urban Decay Naked Palette – There is no surprise here! I picked up this incredibly raved about palette a while back on a special offer that I couldn’t refuse and like everyone else I fell in love. The shades are all amazingly pigmented and all wearable. I have the 3rd one as well now and I now only need the second one to complete my collection. A palette you NEED in your collection!

Mac Shy Girl – Believe it or not but this was my first Mac lipstick ever and the best lipstick I can put my name to. It is a beautiful creamy nude pink shade and the perfect nude lipstick which doesn’t wash you out. If you don’t have this in your collection its a must, the perfect day time lipstick that goes with everything and perfect with a bit of clear gloss 🙂

New Look Brown Chelsea Boots – If you read my Chelsea Boots edit then you would have seen these boots in which I mentioned that I already owned and I love them! Chelsea boots are a huge trend this season and I love the style of them. I usually purchase black boots so I thought I would take a change and go for brown this time and I am loving it, its the perfect fall look and is great for everyday wear with jeans and a flannel shirt. Also at £24.99 you can’t go wrong! 🙂

 

 

 

 

Fall 2014: Chelsea Boots

 

 

It is getting quite cold now so the Fall feeling is very much so kicking in! Another one of my favourite trends for this season is the Chelsea Boot. Again like the Boyfriend coat, Chelsea boots have been everywhere recently so I would be surprised if you haven’t seen them about. Chelsea boots were huge back in the 1960s (which is a major trend this season!) and they are distinguished by their typical elastic side panel and the tabs on the back. I recently purchased a lovely brown pair from New Look which I have listed below, and also some of my other favourites. The boots above are also both from New Look.

Pick of the Month:July 2014

This months pick of the month are these gorgeous Yellow peep toe platform sandals from River Island. Only a couple a months ago I also posted a pair of cute shoes from River Island as Pick of the Month and there is no denying that they are top of the class when it comes to shoes! These beauties are perfect for summer whether teamed with white skinnies and a floral cami for daytime or a cute cami and a floral skort for a night out. They are priced at £55/$110 and the perfect shoe for this summer! 🙂 So will these sandals be making an appearance in your travel suitcase this summer?

My Summer Wishlist

 

As usual I have been browsing the web looking at pretty much every retailer you can think of in search of my next purchases. Above (and below) are some of my most wanted products that I hope to be picking up soon!

If you have any of these products then please do give your personal reviews, I would love to hear them 🙂

1. Fine one-one – Benefit Cosmetics – I first seen this product on TV and was quite fascinated by the idea of it. Its a three-tone lip and cheek tint and is easy to use by

just swiping the cute product along your cheeks/lips. It can be used for a blusher and a highlighter in just one simple stroke which makes this product seem very appealing.

2. Satchel – River Island – I am very much a bag person and I currently lack in a good quality small bag that can be used daily for

going to the shops etc and I love satchels and this cute little bag from River Island is a must for me and would go with almost anything.

3. Cream Lace Mac – Topshop – Topshop have had a number of cute plastic macs in this season and this one is incredibly cute and girly with a lace print.

The macs are perfect for summer as they are lightweight and can help in the unexpected lash of rain! It is quite pricey at £52/$95 so I will have to be saving my pennies!!

4. Makeup Brushes – Forever 21 – I am really in need of some new makeup brushes and these brushes from Forever 21 are purse friendly and have a cute

polka dot design. Defos snapping these up!

5. Versace Crystal Noir Perfume – I love a good perfume and having finished a bottle of Thierry Mugler Alien I need a new high end perfume and this one from

Versace is quite different from my usual taste with strong scent however its feminine and seems to be long-lasting.

6. Bourjois Lip Crayon – Peach on the beach – I am in need of a light pink shaded lip stick and I’ve heard plenty of good reviews about this particular product and

I have always wanted to try the lip crayon which has become quite popular recently. The colour is light and perfect for day-to-day makeup.

7. Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow Taupe – I am not much of an eyeshadow wearer but I would like to add more colour to my eyes and this product which is cream gel based has came to great reviews and

a long lasting finish and the cream gel finish seems more bolder than the typical powder eyeshadow.

Spring Trends 2014: Sports Luxe

Another one of the biggest trends is the Sports luxe trend taking a sportswear inspiration and athletic style. The trend has been popular amongst many designer collections this season such as Gucci, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger who took vibrant shades, mesh and oversized boxy tees to the runway. Below are some key sports luxe inspired pieces for this season:

Spring Trends 2014: Pastels

Another one of the biggest trends this Spring/Summer is Pastels. Pastel shades is one of those trends that appears year after year during Spring and it’s not surprising – who wouldn’t want to wear these adorable light shades!? Pastels has been huge on the runway for this season appearing in shows such as Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, Rebecca Taylor and Burberry Prorsum. Below are some key pastel pieces for this season:

Pick of the Month:May 2014

First of all I would like to apologize for my absence recently, I have been slightly preoccupied with other things but I am back 🙂 This months pick of the month are these cute coral wedges from River Island. The fine summer weather is approaching and its time to prepare for trips abroad in the sunshine or days to the beach. These wedges are available in a stand out summer coral or also in white and printed designs from River Island for £45/$90. These are the perfect addition to any summer wardrobe and can easily be taken from day to night. So will these wedges be making an appearance in your suitcase this summer?
