Another month, another playlist. In the Summer months excluding my holiday time, I don’t tend to listen too heavily to music unlike when I am constantly listening to new things when travelling during uni time. So for the mean time, it has been listening to long time favourites and just getting addicted to catchy dance tunes on the radio. I was super excited to see that Mumford and Sons had released a new mini album entitled ‘Johannesburg’ which features a collaboration with a few South African musicians. There really is nothing better than the folky sounds of M&S which I adore teamed with traditional African sounds. Such a great collection of unique tunes!
In my last playlist, I mentioned my love for Twin Atlantic, this month I am still as ever hooked on their albums, this month however their second album has been playing constantly! From the rockier sounds of TA to the complete opposite side of the spectrum, I’ve also had songs from Drake and Rihanna stuck in my head along with another few chart songs that aren’t really my usual style but are so damn addictive!
Another month, another playlist (I think I said that last month..) Anyway this month has mainly been dominated by one album which was AM by the Arctic Monkeys. Constantly traveling most days of the week gives me the perfect excuse to spend some time listening to music and albums that I never really had the time to fully experience. The Arctic Monkeys are a band I haven’t really given much of my time to but I decided to give their AM album a listen and I’m loving it! I don’t quite know why I never listened to them before, they are well up my street! I love every song on the album but Arabella and No.1 Party Anthem are definitely two of my favourites! Also on the playlist this month was a few tunes from Maroon 5 who just have such catchy feel-good songs and also the new song from Rihanna, Kanye and unusually Paul McCartney – its a good one!
It was a busy night last night with both the Grammy Awards in LA and the BAFTAs in London. Firstly the Grammy Awards were a hit with many stars coming out on top in the fashion stakes. Below are my 4 favorite looks from the night. What do you think ? Who was your best dressed? Credit to Daily Mail (Getty Images,Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP) for images.
This has got to be my favorite of them all. Rihanna. Similar to last year the pop princess has stole the show again in this stunning red custom Azzedine Alaia dress. Her hair looks amazing as well and her loose waves compliment the red dress nicely as well as the red lipstick which brings the whole look together.
Next, Beyonce looked fantastic in this Osman pantsuit which is right on trend with the Monochrome look. One thing i love about this is that she has chose to be original and instead of going for a gown she has went for the trendy and unique pantsuit which she looks stunning in.
Katy Perry also adds to the list who looked glamorous in a gorgeous mint green Prada gown. The dress had a stunning embellished neckline and a keyhole cutout at the top to add attention and detail to the simple but yet amazing gown.
And last but least was country singer Carrie Underwood who vowed in this stunning black Roberto Cavalli gown. This dress just oozes class and glam, its simply incredible. The dress has beautiful lace detail and was topped off with a stunning diamond necklace which is worth a staggering $31 million. Wow!
Hello Everyone !! Happy New Year!! Its 2013! Now since 2012 has came to a close its time to review the year we left behind. There was some major fashion fails and fashion highs last year. Looking back at 2012 i have decided upon 3 of my best dressed celebrities. So here goes:
Firstly, Our pop princess Rihanna has made the list. What is there to say? Absolutely stunning! My favorite look of hers is from the Grammy’s (above) which shows how much she can achieve from this effortless look. One thing that Rihanna does effectively is she manages to look seductive but keeps it classy and elegant.
Next on the list is the breakthrough star of 2012 in not just fashion but also in acting, the stunning Jennifer Lawrence. The Hunger Games star is someone to look out for this year as she keeps surprising us with stunning looks that we would all die for. My favorite look of hers is from the Hunger Games Premiere were she looks incredible in this gold shimmering gown.
And last but not least the lovely Emma Stone concludes our list. The star of the Amazing Spider-man has had a very stylish year and is someone we can look forward to seeing again at the upcoming award ceremonies. She always manages a young and playful look but always achieves to look elegant and mature like above in this stunning Burberry Prorsum combination. And i wouldn’t mind a pair of her Atwood pumps …

At the weekend was the 54th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. There was many shockers and surprises on the red carpet being both bad and good. Here below is my top 3 best dressed looks from the award ceremony. What do you think ? And can i also just say R.I.P Whitney Houston 😦 – one of the greatest performers of all time! My heart goes out to her close family and friends. Credit to gossip.whyfame.com for images.
This has to be my favorite of the night. Rihanna. There is no word to describe how amazing she looked, while i was watching the red carpet show and seen Rihanna i was blown away she looked incredible. This is a big difference to last year were she made herself on the worst dressed list but has completely turned it around in this stunning but simple custom Giorgio Armani gown. It looks great with the simple gold clutch and bangles. It looks amazing and shows off her fab figure.
Another one of my favorite looks was Adele. She looked beautiful in this black shimmering Giorgio Armani gown. Her make up and hair are flawless and make this look even more perfect. One of the things i love about this dress is that the waist band is very flattering on Adele and shows off her smaller waistline which isn’t that noticeable in this picture but can be seen a bit more from the videos or clips of the red carpet. She looks amazing and this dress really flatters her.
My third favorite has to be Jessie J in this disco-ball Julien MacDonald gown. I love this dress and it looks perfect with Jessie’s black side ponytail which works great with the colour and design of the dress. I am a big fan of the mermaid skirt and this is a great addition to the gown and shows off her figure perfectly before flouncing into the mermaid look. Since this dress is very eye-catching with its sequined design Jessie has kept the accessories to a minimum which i love with just a simple black clutch and black earrings.
Well , with every best dressed there is always a worst dressed … This year may have shown some beautiful outfits but there was definitely not so beautiful outfits aswell. Below i have selected 3 of my least favorite looks and really the pictures explain for themselves, I don’t think I really need to do much explaining to why these looks didn’t make the good list. Can i also just add that this will be my last post of 2011 so can I just say a big Happy New Year to all my readers and i hope 2012 is a good year for you all and a big thank to your contribution to the blog.
