Valentino Fall 2015 RTW Zoolander

Valentino Fall 2015 RTW Ben StillerFashion Week is finally over. It does feel like such a long time with so many shows over the four cities. Before we say goodbye though it is time to look at one last show from Paris Fashion Week. This time it is in the form of Valentino a show that I always look forward to seeing. I really took to Valentino over the past while, they just seem to create such simplistic but beautiful clothing. This collection followed the same concept.

Now this show was a major talking point and you may be familiar with it already. It wasn’t about the fashion this time, eyes were focused on the appearance of two familiar faces at the end of the show. Zoolander actors Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller made an appearance in the show in full Zoolander character as they announced a sequel to the original film. The reception of the audience was incredible and definitely added a bit of fun into fashion week.

Nevertheless, this collection has other memorable factors that made this show a winner. There was a strong classic monochromatic style running through the show particularly at the start with black and white checkered and striped pieces as well as plain over-sized pieces. Knits and fur also made their way onto the runway as well as lace and leather details. Things started to get a bit brighter midway and towards the end with multi-colored prints featuring butterflies and flowers as well as the odd dragon (why not?). The show featured many beautiful embellished details and simplistic structured silhouettes. Another great collection for Valentino. *loud applause* Check out the rest of the collection here.

Elie Saab Fall 2015 RTW 3

Elie Saab Fall 2015 RTW 4If there is one show I get the most excited at seeing at Fashion Week it is always without a doubt Elie Saab. Elie Saab is known for his beautiful detailed gowns worn by a host of celebrities at red carpet events. Lets just say if I could only ever own one piece of designer clothing, an Elie Saab dress would be top of the list every time! Every collection has impressed me incredibly with his range of exquisite clothing and this Fall 2015 collection seemed pretty good too…

There was no doubting over whether this was a collection for Fall as the show opened to an array of dark shades with all-black styles and the odd splash of khaki green. The start of the show was very sophisticated and echoed a smart work wear style with a slight nod to military style. For this part of the show the focus was on the structure and silhouette of the pieces before things started to get a tad more creative. Flashes of blue and teal shades appeared alongside floral and forest like prints.

The style then changed from work style to more glamour and femininity. Floral patterns, lacy patterns and embellished details starting to take shape on the runway. This is when the real Elie Saab we know and love came back to life. Embellished brighter toned gowns started to form the end of the show. There really is no other way to describe the pieces than stunning, as usual each and every piece was a beauty. If I’m honest, it wasn’t my favourite Elie Saab collection but it was still a dreamy collection! Check out the rest of the collection here.

Elie Saab: Spring 2015 RTW

1 2 3 4If you have read my posts from previous seasons then you will see I am a huge fan of Elie Saab, I mean c’mon who isn’t! There is never a season were he fails to deliver, its spot on every season and this time is no exception. There was a little bit of a sporty vibe through some of the pieces in a subtle way with swimsuit inspired structures which matched the ‘Dive into the Deep Blue’ theme. It was also a very nice follow on from the previous seasons with similar patterns and structures however being slightly updated for the new season. There was a lot of lace inserts and cut-outs aswell as 70s style silhouettes which all appear to be big for SS15 – watch out! Again another fabulous collection from Saab, can I have it all please! 🙂

Mugler: Spring 2015 RTW

Mugler 1 Mugler 2 Mugler 3 Mugler 4Yesterday saw David Koma’s runway debut for Mugler at Paris Fashion Week. He described it as being a surreal moment as he took on the creative director job. The clothes had a very David Koma feel about them, they were all very sleek and had a slight edge to them with cropped designs and cut-outs. Koma stuck to mostly a monochromatic palette with this collection and quite simplistic silhouettes. There was also a sports vibe about the collection which seems to be popular for SS15 as it was also spotted at collections such as Topshop with mesh details and baring midriffs. Some may think Koma was simply playing it too safe with his simple designs but with wearable designs I say simple but effective 🙂

Paris Couture Week: Elie Saab Fall 2014

Not that long ago Couture fashion week for Fall 2014 kicked off in the fashion capital: Paris. Couture week has to be my favorite for the glamour and exquisite gowns. And one designer who I absolutely adore and matches this description very nicely is Elie Saab. As usual this collection was perfection and I have no faults or negatives to say. The whole collection was designed for Night with stunning gowns and embellished cocktail dresses. Saab experimented with pearls and ombre effects which linked to his Fall 2014 RTW collection were it also made an appearance. Overall a beautiful collection, if only I could get my hands on all these dresses! What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at

Louis Vuitton: Fall 2014 RTW

Fashion Week is officially over but lets take a look back at one last show from Paris this week. The Louis Vuitton collection took to the runway on Wednesday and was highly anticipated as it was Nicolas Ghesquière’s debut for the brand. The pressure was definitely on for Ghesquière having succeeded Marc Jacobs who has built the Louis Vuitton brand over the last 14 years. The collection was packed with A-line style designs which would not look out of place in a 60s wardrobe. Typical darker fall colors of camel, burnt orange and greys graced the show aswell as being packed with leather and suede which the designer used in many interesting ways. The collection was rather toned down from previously under Jacobs however it carried that simple but chic style that worked and created a great debut for Ghesquière.What do you think of this collection? Elie Saab: Fall 2014 RTW

Fashion Week is nearly over but for now we are still in Paris for the final Fall 2014 shows. Yesterday, red carpet favorite Elie Saab took to the runway. The collection was typical Saab style with stunning sparkling, plunge and chiffon gowns. Of course however Saab introduced new twists to his collection one being his choice of color with darker shades of burgundy, plum and a rose shade all completed with an ombre effect. The collection also featured the use of velvet as well as print with a soft floral design based on a black background. Overall another beautiful and slightly different collection from Saab. Elie Saab: Spring 2014 RTW

Its quite sad at this time as Fashion Week is coming to a close however usually in these last few days Paris puts on some spectacular shows. Yesterday saw the prestigious Elie Saab collection take to the runway which has been the moment I have been looking forward to the most during fashion week. This man does it again, again and again, there is never a time were I could fault an Elie Saab collection in any way as each piece is always tailored and embellished to absolute perfection and this collection is no exception. It was described as ‘A Lace Garden’ and it matched that to a tee with rosy pinks, flower embellishments and a floral print. There was a nice variety within the collection with cute flowing summer dresses, red carpet looks and formal work-wear. The collection was nicely complete with a selection of black lace dresses somehow taking on the underwear for outerwear trend. Overall a beautiful collection! Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at

Stella McCartney: Spring 2014 RTW

Fashion Week may be near its close but its still a crazed occasion in the fashion capital: Paris. It came to Stella McCartney who took her turn showing off her latest collection in Paris this morning. The collection was complete with masculine tailoring, sheer and lace. The collection showed aspects of the ladylike trend with opaque lace dresses perfect for a summers day. On the flip side a masculine silhouette was used in many pieces of the collection with looser fittings and trouser suits. Also in a nod to sport, McCartney took on the sport luxe trend with over-sized sunglasses and bomber jacket styles. Overall in my opinion the black lace dress worn by Cara D has to be my favorite from the collection, while the whole collection seems wearable it does not seem to stand out as much as her previous collections. Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at
