Life Lately #10

It’s end of the month time which only means one thing, another life lately roundup! Woo! ! This month I have decided to change things up a bit with the style of this post, I have also decided to stop doing my playlist posts and instead combine it in this post. So, please do let me know how you feel about the changes!

Life 

Life has been pretty damn intense lately. I have had so many looming uni deadlines that have taken up so much of my time It’s been stressful but I’m sure anyone who has been or is in a similar situation will understand how rewarding it is to tick another item off the to do list! It is also half way through the first semester of the year which again is pretty damn crazy but the thought of powering through all the work is exciting stuff!

On a brighter note, it’s reaching my favourite time of year when the Christmas drinks come into Starbucks and the shops are filled with Christmas lights and all things christmassy. Can you tell I like Christmas!? Anyway, talking of Starbucks, the Pumpkin Spiced Frappuccino has made my entire month! Apologies if you are anti pumpkin spice but damn it is so good! I love the classic latte but the frappuccino beats it by a mile! If you haven’t tried it then definitely try one, fall vibes and all that!

Blogging 

This month I cut down my blogging schedule to twice a week and it has been such a relief! I’ve definitely managed so much better now with less content and I do feel like some of the posts I have posted this month have been better quality and also posts that I have been meaning to post for ages have finally got their air time! My schedule is still pretty packed at the minute but I do hope that I can keep up with my schedule and also keep working to the best quality! In particular, I still want to work on my blog photography and try new things out!

TV/Music

Back to a more chilled happy topic, I haven’t been watching too much TV this month but I have been loving one series in particular. Easy has been top of my watch list this month. I mean it’s got Dave Franco in it so what’s not to love. It’s an original series by Netflix with each episode centred around a different situation and different characters. It focuses on love and that kinda thing, it is a laid back, easy watch, pun not intended. It is also a short series so a good choice for watching when you don’t have a lot of time!

In terms of music, there is quite a few songs that I’ve been loving this month. Not my usual taste but I do love a good catchy pop song from time to time!  Also, can we talk about Niall’s debut solo single, LOVE ❤

October Goals

Well, hello October! Things are starting to feel a lot more autumn-y and just like that time of year! I mean just today I seen Lush’s Christmas collection in stores, gah! Scary or what, even scarier is the fact that I only have another two more goals post of the year before we hit the very dramatic yearly resolutions, eeek! Anyway here is my goals for the month ahead!

• Keep to a low-buy
• Start saving again for investment pieces
• Get prepared early for uni assignments
• Get my blogging mojo back!
• Finish my last big wardrobe clearout

October Favourites

It’s favourites time once again! I have been doing quite a lot of beauty spending in the last couple of months so I have been spending my time trying out a bunch of new products. This month I definitely was swayed by a lot of the newbies in my collection and have found some that I know I will love for a long time to come. As October settled in, I definitely got back into the whole Autumnal makeup look. I have been loving wearing darker lips and bold eye makeup, it’s without a doubt my favourite time of year. So without anymore rambling, here is my beauty favourites for the month of October, enjoy…

Blush is one of my favourite makeup products. I just love collecting different tones of blusher. In fact I’ve bought quite a few additions in the last month but my new addition from Nars has been proving to be a strong favourite. Nars Dolce Vita is the perfect blush for the Autumnal months. A gorgeous rosy pink shade that adds a bit of warmth and life to my pale skin. The formula of these are fab too, a little goes a long way and they last for ages.

As the month has went on I have actually been abandoning highlighter which is a little strange for me although my skin has been quite glowy recently and I am struggling for time in the morning for extra steps in my routine. Although when highlighter has been on the need list I have been reaching for the Seventeen Skin Wow Highlighter*, a gorgeous liquid pearl toned highlighter that adds a beautiful glow to the cheekbones. This actually reminds me of the Nars Illuminator in Copacobana but for a fraction of the price. Definitely a drugstore pick to check out!

Alongside the autumnal inspired makeup I also love dark nails. Those gorgeous berries and deep purples are my kinda shades and I would happily take them over a bright coral any day of the week. I have been loving Essie Bahama Mama, a gorgeous plum colour perfect for this time of year. Of course the formula of Essie is unbeatable and definitely worth the extra few pennies.

This month, I also finally picked up something from Bobbi Brown. Whilst I own one of their brushes I never properly tried anything from their makeup range but I finally changed that this month when I picked up the Bobbi Brown Corrector. I have been suffering from a bit of discolouration under the eyes and thought that this cult product would do the job. After popping to a counter I picked up the shade Extra Light Bisque which works wonders at hiding the blue tones from under my eyes. The formula is super creamy and blends beautifully, a product I know I will rely on for a long time to come!

Finally, what’s Autumn without a berry toned lip. My seasonal pick this year comes from Mac in the form of their Plumful lipstick. A gorgeous plum berry shade in Mac’s lustre finish which offers a sheer but buildable colour. This colour is quite different for me, it fits more into the pink/purple category rather than red so is pretty unique in my collection and it just looks super gorgeous. Love, love, love!

Monthly Roundup: October

With November days away it’s time to round up my month of October. Oh how scary that sounds! October has been a bit of a hectic month for me to say the least. With demanding uni deadlines and just not enough hours in the day unfortunately my blog came last in my list of priorities this month. Writing blog posts has been a bit of a rush this month and I did annoyingly miss a couple of posting days. I really do apologise for that, it is incredibly annoying and pretty difficult trying to keep everything in schedule. With a couple of assignments getting out the way I do hope that I can keep on top of things for next month and maybe get a little more organised (potential blog post right there?).

Anyway moving on from the negatives, whilst my month was consumed by work and more work I also had a few exciting things happen. Firstly, now If you recall my monthly roundup back in July here I spoke about how I passed my driving theory test. It’s been a few months since then but after booking my practical driving test, I passed first time! So I am now a legal driver, how exciting! I am so so happy! It’s just been so much more convenient now that I can drive! I also tried my hand at motorway driving last week which is very different but not too bad. Definitely something I will need to get used to though!

Also yet again something I will be mentioning for the billionth time but I finally had my One Direction concert this month. You may or may not know but I am a huge fan of the boys and have been waiting for months to see them on their UK tour. My show finally came around and it was truly amazing! It was also really nice to have something to look forward to and it was just an amazing night that I wish I could do all over again.

Lastly, an exciting and very well longed after purchase happened. You may recall way back in August I did a Birthday wishlist post and featured the Tarte Tartelette palette which of course was sold out for ages. After doing a little bit of browsing I found it in stock and of course had to pick it up! I am more of a shimmer gal than matte so it’s definitely a bit different for me but I am enjoying using it so far. I will give you all a more detailed review though later! Speaking of Tarte though, I would love to hear any recommendations from the brand, I am dying to try out more of their products! So please do let me know your favourite Tarte products! I was hoping that October would be a no spending month but of course that never happened so I did pick up a few other beauty bits that I am sure I will be mentioning over the course of the next month.

October Playlist

Another month nearly gone by, another month full of new music to my ears. In terms of music, this month was pretty darn exciting. I mentioned briefly earlier in my Going Out Makeup Look post here that I went to see One Direction this month. Again I won’t go too much into it because I will be mentioning it again in my next post but it did mean that 1D were top of my list this month. More excitedly they gave us another little spoiler to their album with two new tracks; Infinity and Perfect which are both so good and have been blaring out my speakers for the whole month. Their support act Jamie Lawson also made my list after hearing his #1 track Wasn’t Expecting That which is just the most beautiful yet emotional song I have ever heard, totally worth a listen for a good cry! Two of my favourite bands came back onto the scene this month, the first being The 1975 with their new song Love Me which is incredible and so different to their usual sound but I am loving the funked up beat. Also 5SOS came back with a new album, whilst I haven’t fully gave the album a proper listen I am still loving a couple of their new songs. Also on my list include new songs from Little Mix, Adam Levine and of course the killer comeback tune Hello from Adele.

My October Playlist

Hello everyone, Happy Bonfire night 🙂 Slightly different post today, I have decided to do a new monthly post focusing on my playlist from the previous month so in this case October. Quite like monthly favourites but simply just music. I have decided to do these posts instead of my usual Pick of the Month as I think they are too similar to my Monthly favourites and everyone likes a bit of music, right? So here are three songs I have been listening to a lot in October. Check them out below, they are all pretty good.

October Favourites

Its that time of the month again… Monthly favourites! Ever since I’ve started doing these monthly favourite posts I feel like time goes so much quicker as if I’m posting one of these every week … is it just me!? Anyway October is over, can you believe it! So its now time to round up some of my favourites from the month 🙂

First up is a product I just get so excited at by just looking at it, its the Nars Laguna bronzer. I did a review on this not too long ago which you can check out here. Its the perfect bronzer, it looks so natural and has such a lovely shimmer to it. If you haven’t tried it, you must!

Next is a lip product by Mac and its the lipstick in the shade Mac Twig. This is a great fall lipstick, its a browny-red shade or as they say “your lips but better shade”. If you are a fan of the Kylie Jenner 90s esque lip then this shade is perfect to try and also if you aren’t a fan of berry lips then this is a great fall go-to colour.

Another one of my favourites is an OPI polish in the shade Guy Meets Gal-Veston. I actually have this on my nails just now and its a lovely bright red shade. When I first applied this I was a bit weary about it as the formula was a tad watery however I am so impressed with it, while it is a bit chipped now the lasting quality of this polish is amazing it lasted me over a week with no chipped nails or cracks. Amazing

And last but not least my Topshop black slip-ons. Now if you seen my October Pick of the Month I had a pair of River Island tartan plimsolls and I discussed the fact that I was lusting over a pair of plain black ones .. well you can see what happened.  These shoes are well on trend this season and I totally get why, they are so comfortable but also look amazing with anything. I just love my plimsolls!
