Marchesa 4New York Fashion Week has officially wrapped. Before we leave the city that never sleeps its time to look back at another show from NYFW. This time its a designer with luxurious and the most stunning gowns that I’m sure we would all love to have in our wardrobes. It is of course Marchesa. Known for their extravagant and beautiful gowns made perfect for any red carpet, this collection does not disappoint.

This collection had a very elegant and feminine feel with a vision of the 1920s running through it. The beaded and embellished gowns and tops would not look out of place in the 20s era and the looks definitely had the old Hollywood style glamour theme. The hair and makeup also matched with the models sporting a soft curled look and a sultry feminine dark berry lip.

Marchesa is known for their floral designs and their wide tulle silhouettes. These norms did not escape in this collection. There was a heavy focus on poppies throughout the show with many looks incorporating the embellished floral design as well as following a red and black agenda. In addition there was also no escaping of their usual fuller sized dresses with the odd couple of sizeable gowns but other than that the collection was primarly sleek and embellished to the nines. Well Done Georgina and Keren! Check out the rest of the collection here.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria RTW Fall 2015

Before I head straight into the high fashion craziness that is fashion week I just wanted to say a big thank you to all my lovely wordpress followers as I have just reached 300 followers, so thank you so much 🙂

Anyway, February only means one thing. Nope not Valentines Day or Pancake Day, nope it is of course the start of fashion week! Fashion Week for Fall 2015 finally kicked off this week in New York and I will be sharing some of the highlights here. Now if I uttered the words ‘Herve Leger’ there is probably one thing you and most people are all thinking: the bandage dress. Herve Leger is famed for their figure-hugging bodycon dresses which were quite the thing a few years back with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and pretty much everyone rocking one. Times have slightly moved on though as that trend slowly passed.

The bandage dress however still holds a place in the Herve Leger collection but with a slight twist and a much better one. Many dresses stuck to the similar bandage dress design with embellished features. The collection was quite varied from the biker embellished look to the full on prints. There were bold kaleidoscopic style prints and much more toned down monochrome and darker heavy embellished style dresses. Instead of the usual tight-fitting silhouette, this collection has a varied style with a-lines and peplum hemlines. The typical bandage dress may have had its day but full on prints and change are here to stay! Check out the rest of the collection here.

Alice & Olivia: Spring 2015 RTW

I like anything thats vibrant and fun and thats a great way to describe the Alice & Olivia line by Stacey Bendet. She showed her spring 2015 collection at a presentation in New York and again its a great lively and feminine collection. The thing I love about this collection and in fact the whole Alice & Olivia line is that all the clothes are totally wearable and are objects of simplistic beauty. The colours used through the collection were quite loud and vibrant with apricots, oranges, blues and even a spot of monochrome which seems big for next season. Similarly to Rebecca Taylor there was an influence from the 70s with wide flared pants and tailoring styles. The collection overall was incredibly pretty and feminine with embellished and beaded tops and dresses which I am totally in love with. Fab collection! Credit to Vogue.com for images. Rebecca Taylor: Spring 2015 RTW

So New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off in style. It’s always a bit weird seeing all the spring designs of pastels and light materials when we are all in the midst of shopping for cosy knits and leather boots for fall but hey ho. Rebecca Taylor’s collection took to the runway in New York and screamed spring. The collection was full of typical spring trends of sweet pastel shades of pink, blue and lilac and floral prints. Trends from the 70s seemed to work its way into the collection with wide flares and tailored styles as well as a sort of festival bohemian vibe. The collection was very feminine and sophisticated and works as a great step up from the previous season. Overall if I could use two words to describe this collection I would say pretty and wearable, its just so lovely and cute and I could see these items being wore time and time again during spring. I need my hands on these pieces now! Credit to Vogue.com for images.

Nanette Lepore: Fall 2014 RTW

New York Fashion Week came to a close on Friday but before we move on to London here is a look at the Nanette Lepore Fall 2014 collection that took to the runway. The collection stuck to the typically obvious Fall related colours with burgundy, plum and gray having a strong impact. The use of purples, cinched in waists and short hemlines created a strong sense of femininity while tailored office wear looks and oversized outerwear brought a splash of menswear esque style to the collection. Preferring a more feminine approach, the first half of the collection shone for me with pinks and purples and tribal like prints used for a variety of cute dresses. Rebecca Taylor: Fall 2014 RTW

New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off and while we may be leaving Fall behind us, it’s time to look ahead to next season. Rebecca Taylor took to the runway yesterday with her Fall collection. The collection was made up of a mix of light shades of soft grays and blues and darker tones of harsh grays and blacks. Despite slouchy silhouettes and oversized looks suggesting a more manly approach Taylor still sticks to femininity within her collection with delicate colours and fabrics as well as a sophisticated look and short lengths. Fashion Week already seems to be doing well with what is in my eyes a lovely collection from Taylor with the right mix between menswear inspiration and femininity. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.

Nanette Lepore: Spring 2014 RTW

New York Fashion Week has just came to a stunning close but before we fast forward to London here is a look at the Nanette Lepore Spring 2014 collection that hit the runway on Wednesday. There was a clear sense of girly-ness in this collection with delicate shades and floral designs. Work-wear seemed a part in this collection with a modern take on suits for women with a pop of colour however there was a variety of pieces in the collection suited to everyday wear. The silhouettes were more relaxed in this collection with floaty A-line styles perfect for spring. Overall a beautiful show! Below are some pieces from the collection. Badgley Mischka: Spring 2014 RTW

New York is where it has all been happening as New York Fashion Week has sprung. We are nearing the end of NYC before the Spring 2014 looks hit the London catwalk and yesterday Badgley Mischka took to the runway. Spring was all over this collection with the idea of lounging by the French Rivera which this collection fitted to a tee. The early pieces shown were very luxurious looking and would look perfect lounging on a yacht with the royal blues and whites while the later pieces were more formal and beachy with pastel shades and mermaid silhouettes. Badgley Mischka always seems to get it right and this collection is no exception with a rather splendid view on Spring.  Below are some pieces from the collection. Kate Spade New York: Spring 2014 RTW

You may be beginning to see hats, scarves and all winter accessories pile in to your favorite retail store however forgetting that, all eyes are focused on all the looks of next season. Thats right, Spring 2014 has begun (well on the runway anyway) as Fashion Week is well into force with flying starts in New York. I had recently taken quite an interest in Kate Spade after reality TV star and fashion designer Lauren Conrad had mentioned her a few times and after seeing this collection I can totally see what all the buzz is about! There is so much pop and energy in this collection and yet it holds so much simplicity which I love. The bold colours of corals, yellows and blues are enough to make this collection spark while the clothes hold simple patterns and designs making them highly wearable. This collection is very girly and sweet which I personally really like and its fair to say I would not mind one of those coral pink coats.. Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.
