Pinterest: Coats and Sneakers Trend

Sneakers and CoatsI would say that I’m not really one to follow trends or have a specific style role model that I copy, I just tend to do my own thing. However there is one ‘trend’ that I have spotted constantly on Pinterest over the last while and I’m loving it!

If there is two pieces of clothing that I just love its a good coat and of course a beloved pair of trainers. Of course put them together: ultimate dream team! There is just something ever so cool about pairing a sophisticated long camel coat with a pair of sneakers. I have been loving this combo and my daily go-to is always my beloved New Look camel coat with my even more beloved maroon Adidas Gazelles.

However when you get caught up in this trend-loving it has only went and increased my wardrobe wishlist further. I now have my eye on a couple other pairs of trainers namely black and white Nike Roche Runs and a pair of black and white Adidas Gazelles (yes I do like my monochrome!). Its a weird smart-casual combo but I’m loving it and maybe the addition of a camel trench coat can take this look right into Spring!

H&M Home Haul

H&M HomewareThere is no denying I love a bit of homeware stuff. The best bit being of course the fact I still live at home with my parents and only have my own little square of space to fix up. I have had such a surge of home ideas recently to change my bedroom decor around and I mostly blame Pinterest and blogs (ghostparties!). If there is one decor shop that I keep hearing about for affordable yet stylish home pieces its of course H&M. I sadly don’t have a H&M home store near me but I ventured online and ended up with a few items that I totally love.

Cest La Vie Cushion Cover – You can probably tell from the image above I like a bit of monochrome. This cushion cover is so adorable and I love anything french or paris inspired so this fits ever so nicely on my bed.

Striped Cushion Cover – Another monochromatic cushion cover except with a stripe design going on. This was the ultimate bargain at £1.99! I really love a good black and white striped design so I had to pick this up! The only thing is that this cover is slightly bigger than the other at 50×50 so I do need a bigger cushion but other than that the two cushions look so pretty together!

Marble plate – Probably my favourite of them all. I have been totally loving marble recently and I’ve been looking around for a few marble decor pieces for jewelery and vanity purposes. I found this cute little plate at £2.99 (I think) which is a complete bargain and I now store a few of jewelery bits on it. Sadly this is sold out just now 😦

I am totally in love with all my pieces from H&M and I already have my eye on another few bits from the website; namely one of the copper baskets and more marble-ness!

Have you purchased from H&M home before?

Valentino RTW Fall 2015 Collection

Valentino Fall 2015 RTW Zoolander

Valentino Fall 2015 RTW Ben StillerFashion Week is finally over. It does feel like such a long time with so many shows over the four cities. Before we say goodbye though it is time to look at one last show from Paris Fashion Week. This time it is in the form of Valentino a show that I always look forward to seeing. I really took to Valentino over the past while, they just seem to create such simplistic but beautiful clothing. This collection followed the same concept.

Now this show was a major talking point and you may be familiar with it already. It wasn’t about the fashion this time, eyes were focused on the appearance of two familiar faces at the end of the show. Zoolander actors Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller made an appearance in the show in full Zoolander character as they announced a sequel to the original film. The reception of the audience was incredible and definitely added a bit of fun into fashion week.

Nevertheless, this collection has other memorable factors that made this show a winner. There was a strong classic monochromatic style running through the show particularly at the start with black and white checkered and striped pieces as well as plain over-sized pieces. Knits and fur also made their way onto the runway as well as lace and leather details. Things started to get a bit brighter midway and towards the end with multi-colored prints featuring butterflies and flowers as well as the odd dragon (why not?). The show featured many beautiful embellished details and simplistic structured silhouettes. Another great collection for Valentino. *loud applause* Check out the rest of the collection here.

Fave Pins: Home Decor

CollageThere is no denying that I could spend hours upon hours looking at Pinterest. It always gets me so inspired to change something whether it be decor, hair or style and lately I’ve been hooked on looking at home decor pins. I can’t be the only one who looks at these pins and basically plans some sort of crazy master plan to change the decor of my room. If only I had my own home *sad face*. I wanted to share some of my favourite home decor pins that get me feeling all inspired, motivated and jealous!

1. The Monochrome wardrobe – Oh how heavenly this is! If I had to live with a wardrobe filled with black and white clothes I would be totally happy. I just love the whole minimalist and clean look of this, everything is so neat and organized. It gets me so inspired to clean my entire wardrobe, a girl can dream right!? (source)

2. The Pink sofa – I may not own my own home so when it comes to living area decors these have to take a backseat for the time being. However its just so pretty. Again a very clean and minimalist theme and then in goes this ever so cute pink sofa to create such a nice contrast. (source)

3. The cozy home – How can you not love this! This is the winter dream, wrapping up in a blanket next to this cozy fireplace with a hot chocolate, dreamy right!? Again I love the neutral colour palette and how it still has such a ‘home’ vibe to it. (source)

4. The Monochrome desk – This is were the inspiration really kicks in! Having just got a new white desk I have been forever searching Pinterest on decor ideas and this one is perfect. I’m sure you can tell already I am a huge fan of the minimalist look and I just love how clean and crisp looking this is. I also love the cute fairy lights hanging from the shelf and the collection of frames, ooo I better get to it! (source)

So mentioning Pinterest, if you are an avid fan like myself then follow me here where you can check out my other decor faves!

Mugler: Spring 2015 RTW

Mugler 1 Mugler 2 Mugler 3 Mugler 4Yesterday saw David Koma’s runway debut for Mugler at Paris Fashion Week. He described it as being a surreal moment as he took on the creative director job. The clothes had a very David Koma feel about them, they were all very sleek and had a slight edge to them with cropped designs and cut-outs. Koma stuck to mostly a monochromatic palette with this collection and quite simplistic silhouettes. There was also a sports vibe about the collection which seems to be popular for SS15 as it was also spotted at collections such as Topshop with mesh details and baring midriffs. Some may think Koma was simply playing it too safe with his simple designs but with wearable designs I say simple but effective 🙂

The bag is valued at £22.99 and definitely worth it. Are you a fan of the backpack trend?

Paris Fashion Week:Christian Dior Fall 2013 RTW

Paris Fashion Week is probably the most anticipated fashion week of them all with some of the best fashion houses taking to the runway and yesterday was no exception as Christian Dior followed on. There was a clear Monochromatic theme running through the show which as I said previously seems to be a key trend for Fall 2013. Other noticeable trends in the show were the Dogtooth print and the masculine look which was demonstrated through over-sized coats and suits. Here below are some shots from the runway show. Are you a fan of this collection ? To see all the runway shots go to Style.com. Credit to Style.com for images.

London Fashion Week:Mary Katrantzou Fall 2013 RTW

After gaining support from the British Fashion Council Mary Katrantzou has had a surge in success with her collection. Known for her prints, this collection is no exception showing what Katrantzou does best. This collection appears dark and the main prints in the collection show dark nights with streetlights and benches on a misty night. One thing that is very noticeable in this collection that contrasts with her previous collections is the lack in bold colour that we are used to seeing in her designs. This collection mainly has a monochrome palette running through it with colour taking a back-seat this time round and having the structure and shape of the designs as the main focus in order to take the collection forward. In my opinion this collection is not my favorite as one thing I have always liked about her was her use in bold coloured prints however obviously this is missing this time round which I believe brings the collection down however saying that I still think Mary Katrantzou is a fantastic designer and the attention she pays to prints is at a very high level. Here below are some shots from the runway show.
