February Playlist

It’s felt like such a long time since I last did a playlist post but I am back again resuming my monthly mix-tape posts. I did miss it out last month but instead I did a 2015 round up playlist which you can check here. This month though has seen quite a few new releases in the music world which really took my attention. Firstly, I can’t not mention Zayn and his first solo single Pillow Talk which is annoyingly catchy! Although to show my dedication to the other boys, 1D’s latest album has been playing constantly over the last few weeks. I am still truly obsessed! I have also started to have a little thing for Years & Years who are pretty damn good. I especially love their song Eyes Shut which has been one of my most played over February. I am also loving the new Little Mix song with Jason Derulo which takes on a more ballad style track for them. Finally, a couple of new album releases got me well excited. Panic at the Disco’s new album is amazing, quite different from their previous albums with a more swing Sinatra style but I love it. The 1975 also have a new album which isn’t actually out til TODAY but they have released a few tracks and so far it is sounding very impressive with a ton of 80s vibes!

September Playlist

I have lost count of the amount of times I have went to call this post ‘August playlist’. Time is clearly flying past faster than I know it! I’ll leave my monthly chat until Monday’s post as it’s time once again to reflect on what I’ve had blaring out the speakers this month. Like last month it’s a bit of a mix and goes from the extreme of one genre to another. I’ve been listening to a couple of newer tunes from some of my old favourites Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco. Both bands will never get old and I still continue to enjoy their newer releases. I also caught up with a couple of tracks from Imagine Dragon’s newest album which I am liking but I still need to give the album a proper listen. Of course what would my playlist be without a couple of those random songs. Time to Say Goodbye has been stuck in my head forever since it features in the Downton Abbey advert so I have had that version on numerous times over the month as well as a Cher Lloyd song that I also really like. Cough Syrup by Young the Giant is such a good song and one I’ve had on repeat for too long as well as Bridge Burn by Little Comets. Two really great songs worth a listen. Little Mix and One Republic also make up the last of my rather mixed up monthly playlist.

July Playlist

It’s that time again when I give you all a snippet into the music I’ve been singing along to for the past month. As I’ve probably mentioned for the gazillion-th time I went on holiday this month so it gave me the perfect opportunity to listen to some new music. One album I had been so desperate to listen to in full was Hozier’s album titled Hozier (genius or what!). I had heard Take Me To Church and Someone New a lot and fell in love with his amazing unique voice. I basically had the album on repeat while lounging by the pool on a daily basis and it really is an amazing album. My favourite song has to be In a Week, which also features vocalist Karen Cowley and other favourites include From Eden and Jackie and Wilson. It’s definitely a great album I recommend giving a listen! As well as the soft sounds of Hozier, I also enjoyed some upbeat songs from the likes of Rita Ora, 5SOS and Little Mix. I also reengaged my love for Mumford and Sons by listening to a couple of new tracks from their album which I still need to properly listen to in full but I am loving their sound (as usual).
