Now if there is one brand that I have became a little obsessed with this year then its Nars. When I heard about their limited edition Holiday sets I pretty much squealed with excitement and considering how amazing they are you can understand why. I jumped on the Nars Lip Pencil bandwagon not too long ago when I purchased the also holiday edition Lip pencil in the shade Mandore which I love and I did a little review here. So obviously when I seen this Nars “coffret” of lip pencils on sale as part of their Christmas range it was of course top of my list for gifts… for myself (obviously). This set is exclusive to Space NK and retails for £32 which is incredible considering one lip pencil retails for £18, these pencils are a tad smaller than the usual ones but its still unbelievable value.
The set contains five very wearable shades with nudes to pinks and red. There are three Satin lip pencils: Descanso, Torres Del Paine and Yu; and there are two Velvet matte lip pencils: Iberico and Cruella. You can probably tell from the swatches above the finish of these formulas, the satin lip pencils of course have a very smooth finish and glide on easily and while the other two matte pencils are still smooth they have a more thick matte finish. Descanso is a pretty nude pink shade perfect for everyday wear, Torres Del Paine has a slightly brighter toned light pink shade, then Yu is a striking bold fuschia pink. Iberico is probably the scary one but no need to worry its a nice and different orangey shaded red and then there is Cruella which is just a nice matte red.
This set is perfect as a Christmas gift for a beauty lover or if you are like me then a great gift for yourself! 🙂
So are you a fan of the Nars Lip Pencils?
I will be very surprised if you haven’t seen a ‘Lush’ related blog post recently, my reader is full of them and there is no shock really considering its that time of year again.. Lush have just realised their Christmas goodies into stores and myself like most people got a little excited!
Cupcake Face Mask – Well this is slightly off topic since the first product I bought has no Christmas relevance and is just a regular Lush product that is sold all year round. Its the amazingly smelling chocolaty Cupcake face mask. I have heard so many amazing reviews on this product recently and being a little more skin conscious I really wanted to try a good face mask. The cupcake face mask is meant to help skin that is prone to breakouts and spots so basically its very suited to my skin. This mask was £6.50 (I think) and you have to store it in the fridge to keep it fresh. Can’t wait to use this one! 🙂
Santa’s Lip Scrub – Now we can get a little more festive.. despite it only being October. I am a huge fan of the Lush lip scrubs, I already own the bubblegum one and it makes my lips perfect by getting rid of all the dry patches. As part of the Christmas collection, Lush have realised the cola flavored red lip scrub which smells absolutely amazing! If you have never tried their lip scrubs it is so worth the buy, they retail at £5.50 but they last for ages and taste amazing (yes they are EDIBLE!)
Snow Fairy Shower Gel – I saved the best til last! If you have never tried Snow Fairy you are missing out big time! This is my favorite Lush product ever (quite the statement!), it has a bubblegum scent which is to die for. Its also a lovely bubblegum pink shade and has a lovely shimmer to it. I really could sit and smell the contents of the bottle all day if I could! Its £3.95 for a 100g bottle, just buy it!
