Burberry Prorsum 4When it comes to London Fashion Week there is always one show I cannot wait to see, in fact its a show I am probably the most excited about for the whole of fashion week over all four cities. Nothing quite comes close to the show that Christopher Bailey puts on for Burberry Prorsum. Oh the things that I would do to get the chance to attend a show, a girl can dream, right!? As usual there was no disappointment in this collection and only added countless pieces to my “if I get rich wishlist”.

The collection was appropriately named “Patchwork, Pattern and Prints” and it was just that. There was quite a 60s boho chic vibe from the show with fringed ponchos and floral designs that had the hippy era written all over them. An Indian theme was also echoed throughout the collection through fringed details sported on skirts to boots and the use of suede was also apparent. Of course being a Burberry show there was indeed the classic trench coats which were seen featuring a range of floral designs.

Makeup wise, it was kept to a minimum. Models donned a fresh faced look with a soft smokey eye and nude lips. Overall, as usual another incredible show from Christopher Bailey and my favourite Fall 2015 collection from fashion week (so far). Check out the rest of the collection here.

Christopher Kane: Spring 2015 RTW

It hard to believe London Fashion Week is over, that must have been the shortest fashion week ever. Anyway before I move on to Milan its time to look at one of the final collections shown at LFW this week. This collection is by the fabulous Christopher Kane who for me is always really a hit or a miss, sometimes he produces fantastic collections and other times not so much, don’t get me wrong though while some of his designs might not be to my liking I will never deny the amazing talent and creativity of this great designer. I was reading a bit about this collection and his inspirations and I discovered that this collection was actually created in tribute to his late friend and professor Louise Wilson. It is quite touching and rather lovely actually reading about it as his collection incorporated materials such as cord, rope and coils in which he used in his early days when he was a student. The collection also had a ‘back to school’ vibe about it using colours from his old school uniform and having a sophisticated and classy style about it which I love. Overall I am very impressed with this collection, I loved the idea of bringing his past into it but making it present. It’s a hit for me 🙂 Credit to Vogue.com for images.

Topshop Unique: Spring 2015 RTW

Fashion Week is officially in London *celebratory dance*! Yesterday the Topshop Unique show was happening and if you know me I am a huge Topshop fan so I am always looking forward to seeing their new collections. This collection screamed British summertime and being a British brand it was all very relevant and worked well. “For SS15, it’s the faded glamour of the British seaside, from pier to Pleasure Beach.” Cara Delevingne was the first look of the show and it was totally rocking the tennis look with a colour block striped white dress, shoes to match and a sport looking holdall bag. Topshop’s aim was to capture youthful spirit and they certainly did so with sports luxe styles and casual but sparkly dresses for night. Overall it was a very wearable collection and had a great urban feel to it making it suited to young people which the entire collection was screaming out! Fab show 🙂 Credit to Vogue.com for images. Burberry Prorsum: Fall 2014 RTW

London Fashion Week is coming to a close but before we jet set to Milan, one of the most anticipated shows from Fashion week happened yesterday which was of course Burberry Prorsum. Every season at Fashion Week, Christopher Bailey puts on a magnificent show and this season was no exception. Every season the Burberry brand seems to grow and take new risks with Bailey able to push the boat out a little each time. Instead of a typical collection full of different styled trench coats we are now seeing a change to oversized shearling trimmed jackets, capes and wrap dresses as well as the occasional blanket. The collection strongly featured prints of hand painted work that showed a slight cultural inspiration. The collection overall was sophisticated and classy with long lengths and high waisted styles. Holly Fulton: Fall 2014 RTW

We are already in the midst of London Fashion Week with a number of top designers taking their collections to the runway. Holly Fulton showed her latest designs yesterday which I shall say is one of my favorite collections for Fall 2014 so far. The collection is delicate and soft with a light palette of pastel shades, metallics and feminine prints. A heavy focus on the collection was the hand designed graphics that Fulton used in her designs. The collection was feminine and sophisticated with midi length hemlines. The pale shades and simplicity of the collection is a major plus for me and overall Fulton put on a fantastic show! What do you think of this collection? Mary Katrantzou: Spring 2014 RTW

Milan Fashion Week may be in full swing but before I jump on that ship its time to rewind back to London and take a look at one of my favorite designers. If you have followed this blog for a while you may have seen I have posted quite a few times on collections by Mary Katrantzou and I do always seem to go on about how much I truly admire this woman’s work! And yet again I am at it again. I can never ever fault Katrantzou as her strong digital print designs always make her stand out from the rest as an unique designer. The collection started with a variety of pieces sporting prints related to shoes with eyelets and laces. As the collection went on there was a variety of ruffled baby-doll dresses showing the typical silhouette and structure that Katrantzou goes for. Overall not my favorite of Mary Katrantzou but again a brilliant collection and yet again I can’t wait to see what she is offering next time too!  Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.

Burberry Prorsum: Spring 2014 RTW

London Fashion Week came to a close stunning close this week and one show in particular that was very anticipated was of course Burberry Prorsum. Christopher Bailey always puts on a spectacular show for the brand every season and this time was no exception. One thing I always admire about the Burberry shows is the beautiful location it is set in which resembles a large greenhouse – stunning! There seems to be typical spring patterns running through fashion week with of course pastel shades making an appearance especially in this collection. The collection is very ladylike and girly similar to many other shows we have seen previously sparking a new trend for next season.  The detailing in the collection definitely did not disappoint, the embellishments in some of the pieces were simply beautiful and the use of lace material expressed the femininity and glamour in this collection.  In previous years the Burberry brand has seen many negative stereotypes but with collections like these Burberry are most definitely on top of their game! Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi: Spring 2014 RTW

London Fashion Week officially kicked off at the weekend and earlier today Preen by Thornton Bregazzi took to the runway. Comparing this collection with others that I have posted on from NYFW its clear that a girly approach will be popular next season with delicate pastel pinks, powder blues and floral prints. This collection holds simplicity with the main aspect in each design being the silhouette with a variety being used within the collection with wrap skirts and jagged designs. Overall I love this collection with its cute shades, modern prints and silhouettes that are sure to be a hit in Spring! Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.
