Life Lately #6

life-lately-june-summer-bblogger-blogger-lifestyle-diaryWe are officially past the half way mark of the year, crazy how time flies. Even more so is the fact that I’ve also been away and back and July is on our doorstep. If you were reading these parts this time last month you would’ve known I was on holiday at the start of the month. I spent some time relaxing by the beach in the lovely island of Majorca in the Balearic Islands which was really nice. It was obviously really nice to escape the UK weather and enjoy spending my days doing something a little different with a view of the beach rather than my desk. When I was away I did have posts scheduled which were all summer related in the spirit of my holiday however I did just realise that Summer only began last week, oops! Gotta be prepared I guess haha! So Summer may not be mentioned again this year on this blog as I’ve pretty much covered it all lol!

Of course June also marks the month of exam results for me. I had absolutely no idea when I would receive them so I had a rather pleasant surprise when I got a text saying they were available in the middle of my holiday. Obviously that could’ve been a great thing or the complete opposite but very luckily I am happy to say that I passed all my exams. So roll on another year of studying, eek!

Last month, I spoke about my love for Parks & Rec, best show ever! Since I’ve finished that now, I have moved onto the US Office which I am enjoying. I am currently about half way through, so far so good. The first couple of seasons were a little tricky to get through but it definitely gets better! Film-wise, I went and seen Me Before You in the cinema which is the film version of the book by Jojo Moyes. It was pretty emotional although it did have a good bit of humour to balance it out, definitely one I recommend!

Lastly, I wanted to talk a little about food. I have mentioned many recipes on this blog before as I love baking and I really enjoy doing foodie posts. Although recently I’ve been bitten by the health bug. Okay not literally but food wise I have been trying to improve my diet. When I was on holiday I basically went crazy with food so on my return I was feeling inspired to change it up a bit. I am not the healthiest of eaters, I love snacking (a lot) and I love sugar, anything sweet and sugary has my name all over it. Obviously that isn’t the best for my diet and I thought it was time I switched it up a bit. I’ve been looking into many vegan, refined sugar free recipes for snacks etc and I am so up for a bit of a change. I am not up for going completely sugar free but I do want to cut it significantly and I am also not vegan or have gluten free needs however I use a lot of recipes suited to those. So basically I hope that I can change my lifestyle quite dramatically in terms of eating and become more healthier and hopefully if you are interested this is something I will blog about in terms of what I’ve been eating and my favourite recipes etc.

June Goals

Even more crazier is the fact that we now only have six months left of the year to achieve all our new years resolutions, yay! Anyway focusing on the present, it’s time to look at my goals for this month. This month will be pretty chilled since I am on holiday so I will be going a little easier on myself goals-wise but I still have a few things I would like to tick off my list!

  • Have a nice relaxing holiday
  • Get my blogging game back on
  • Be more active on Pinterest/IG
  • Finalise my Summer wardrobe
  • Try and get into a fitness routine

June Favourites

June FavouritesJust typing the word ‘June’ is enough to give me the chills. Its quite hard to believe we are past the half way mark of 2015! Anyway this month has been a bit of a slow one. I never really ventured much outside so the amount of times I wore makeup was pretty minimal. This favourites post will be quite short and sweet but I did gather a few life long favourites that are worth raving about.

First up is the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer that I already reviewed in full here. This concealer has answered my prayers and gave my everything I have ever wanted in a concealer. The thick and creamy formula is a dream to work with and it offers such a good coverage perfect for covering blemishes and pigmentation. Its expensive but is much more long wearing than cheaper alternatives I previously tried.

I also have two lip favourites this month of the opposite scale with one being a nude and the other a bold fuchsia. The first offering being the YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in the shade 1 Nude Beige which I talked about previously here. The formula of these lipsticks are incredible, beautifully silky and creamy on the lips. The nude shade is also great for everyday wear.

The latter lip offering comes from Nars and is one of their classic lip pencils in the shade Yu. I got this mini version in their Christmas gift set which I talked about here. I wore this shade for the first time this month and its safe to say it blew me away. The satin formula is super soft and moisturising on the lips and the pink fuchsia shade is bold and vibrant. I was a little worried on the longevity of this one being a satin finish but oh my this lasts super well. Lets just say I had problems trying to remove this and I still ended up with pink tinted lips the next day!

Lastly is a pot of gold. Okay not exactly but the Topshop Glow Pot in Polished comes close. I am already a fan of the Topshop highlighters with their glow stick remaining one of my favourites. I heard so much about this cute little pot and had to get my hands on it. Luckily for me they also repackaged it for their 5th anniversary in a cute rose gold design so obviously I had to get it then. The highlighter is super creamy and a little goes a long way. By dotting a little along the cheekbones it creates the most beautiful glow.

I stated at the start of this post that this one would be short and sweet yet I’ve rambled on as usual… sorry!

What have you been loving this month?

June Playlist

June PlaylistIt’s time for another monthly playlist were I give you all a little look into what I’ve been listening to in the past month. Can I just bring up how amazing Alexa Chung looks on the cover of Harpers Bazaar this month! Can I please have her hair! Anyway back to the music, the actual topic of this post. This month has been a bit of lazy one (you may have seen from my Monthly Roundup) so I haven’t really had the patience to sit and listen to any full albums so this month I listened to a lot of stuff that was pretty much repeated on the radio on a daily basis. Chart-topping catchy tunes from Nick Jonas, Jason Derulo and Ariana Grande made the playlist this month despite not having much of an interest in them personally. There is also a bit of an oldie from Fleetwood Mac which I think is such an underrated song of theirs. I also discovered Hozier who have such a unique sound and appeal a lot to me so I will definitely be checking out more of their stuff!

Monthly Round-up: June

Monthly RoundupSo you may be wondering what on earth is going on here so basically I thought I would introduce a new monthly feature to Styled by Lauren. I thought I would add something a little more personal to the blog and let you all know what I got up to during the month. So the month of June was quite a lazy and slow month if I am honest. It was my first full month off from uni and to be honest I did what a student does best and spent my time doing nothing! So my month did mostly consist of online shopping and blogging (about my shopping!).

Probably the most noteworthy event that I attended during the month was of course going to see 5 Seconds of Summer which I mentioned in my May Playlist post. I had already seen them before although as a support act so I got to see them for the first time being the headline act and they were incredible. I had such a good time and would snap up tickets again in a heartbeat!

Also, I received my uni exam results the other day too! I only sat one exam but I was super happy to see that I had passed it which was such a blessing since I had a really bad feeling about it. My first year is now over and I have passed all my classes ready for second year, how scary!

As I already said I did a bit of shopping. I could probably lose the word ‘bit’ in that sentence. I am going away on holiday next month so I picked up a lot of clothes to wear in the sunshine. Sneak peak above! I did pick up a lot of black and white pieces due to the fact that I would be able to wear them a lot more when I am not on holiday too and also I just like black and white clothes haha! I also picked up a few new beauty bits too which should make their way around the blog some time so look out for that.

I realise that I am rambling on a bit here so just to close I just have to rave about how good the lemon curd flapjacks are from Graze! I may have to find a recipe, future blog post… who knows!?

Catch up with June posts: New favourite cleanser, Holy grail foundation and concealer, 5 great beauty buys under £5

What did you get up to this month? Did you like the new monthly feature?

June Fashion News

Hello everyone! Firstly I would just like to notify you all of some changes to the blog. You may know this blog under the name of 4everfashion however the blog has had a bit of revamp and will now be called ‘STYLED’ but the url address for the blog will remain the same @ The layout of the blog will also look a little different which I hope you agree with me in the sense that it feels fresher and more up-to-date. As well as that post wise, I have decided to add to the blog a bit more and dip into different areas such as music, food and travel which I hope to introduce and post about in the near future however do not worry this blog will remain to focus mainly on fashion and style. I hope you all appreciate the new changes to the blog and please feel free to comment or send feedback on the blog, I will be happy to take any criticisms and improvements that you may have as after all this blog is for you all to read! Any way enough of me blabbering on, I thought I would introduce more fashion news to the blog that you may all be interested in and this post is exactly what this is. Below are some top stories from this month particularly this week associated with the fashion world.

1. LCM kicked off

LCM(London Collections:Men) kicked off last week and finished yesterday showcasing all the Spring/Summer 2014 menswear collections from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Burberry Prorsum. Menswear has seen a boost in popularity in recent years with the menswear market anticipated to grow by 16% between 2011 and 2016. 134 designers took part in LCM SS14 in shows, presentations & events from Sunday to Tuesday with international fashion press on the scene witnessing it all. Below is a picture from the Burberry Prorsum show and all collections can be viewed on

2. Alexander McQueen to release fragrance

Calling all Alexander McQueen fans! For all those who adore the McQueen fashion house and cannot afford the wealthy items or for those who can afford it well there is great news for all as it has been confirmed that the British fashion house has signed a licensing deal with P&G Prestige to launch a fragrance for both men and women. There is no release date for the new scent yet but work is stated to begin immediately. Creative Director, Sarah Burton stated after announcing the deal  ‘Creating a fragrance feels like a natural progression as it enhances the world of Alexander McQueen, I’m very excited by this opportunity to collaborate with P&G Prestige, to work together to create a scent that captures the unique sensibility of the house.’ How exciting!! So who will be joining me in queuing up for the new fragrance once released!?

3.Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana found guilty of tax evasion

And the last piece of news today is the news of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the founders of fashion house Dolce and Gabbana who today were found guilty of tax evasion and have each been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison. The lawsuit links to the house’s 2004 sale of its D&G lines to Luxembourg-based holding company Gado Srl which Italian authorities believe was a way of evading Italy’s high taxes that are charges that the designers have strongly denied. However designers are expected to appeal against the decision.
