If I am honest I wasn’t really that excited or in fact even interested by the fact that H&M were launching a new beauty line. They had a smaller collection of beauty bits before that were pretty boring and looked cheap and I suppose I wasn’t expecting too much. Although after seeing the line in full I have to say I am totally digging this new collection by H&M and obviously had to pick up a couple of pieces! I have to say I am pretty impressed at the range and some of the packaging looks super chic especially those hexagon blushes! Although I limited myself to just two things from the range and thought I would give you my lowdown to my first taster of H&M Beauty.
They had an incredibly impressive range of eyeshadow products with cream eyeshadows, beautiful palettes and eye pencils. I went with one of the single eyeshadows or should I say High Impact Eye colours in the shade Robusta. When it comes to eyeshadow I always gravitate to my usual bronze-y and brown shades. The shade ‘Robusta’ is a gorgeous deep bronze-y gold shade. The shade can be worn lightly as a sheer wash of colour or built up to full colour in which it boasts impressive pigmentation. The formula blends easily on the lids and also lasts really well during the day. At £4.99 it’s a complete bargain and I will definitely need to try out more shades from the brand!
Next up surprisingly is a lip gloss. Now I say surprisingly because you may or may not be aware but I am not really a lip gloss fan. I don’t like the stickiness and it all just pretty much reminds me of being a little girl with a tube of thick gloopy gloss. Not pretty! Now when I went to buy this I actually thought I was buying a liquid lipstick and then soon realised my mistake as I tried this on back home and of course read the label… silly me! However I actually really like this. I picked up the shade Tuscan Blush which is a gorgeous rosy mauve colour that is a perfect everyday colour for the Autumnal months. Now the reason I really like this is that it isn’t like your average lip gloss, it boasts a high pigmented colour that lasts really well on the lips but also the formula isn’t overly sticky in any way, it feels super comfortable. I would definitely consider picking up another couple of gloss shades, I am without a doubt a lip gloss convert…
There is no denying I love a bit of homeware stuff. The best bit being of course the fact I still live at home with my parents and only have my own little square of space to fix up. I have had such a surge of home ideas recently to change my bedroom decor around and I mostly blame Pinterest and blogs (ghostparties!). If there is one decor shop that I keep hearing about for affordable yet stylish home pieces its of course H&M. I sadly don’t have a H&M home store near me but I ventured online and ended up with a few items that I totally love.
Cest La Vie Cushion Cover – You can probably tell from the image above I like a bit of monochrome. This cushion cover is so adorable and I love anything french or paris inspired so this fits ever so nicely on my bed.
Striped Cushion Cover – Another monochromatic cushion cover except with a stripe design going on. This was the ultimate bargain at £1.99! I really love a good black and white striped design so I had to pick this up! The only thing is that this cover is slightly bigger than the other at 50×50 so I do need a bigger cushion but other than that the two cushions look so pretty together!
Marble plate – Probably my favourite of them all. I have been totally loving marble recently and I’ve been looking around for a few marble decor pieces for jewelery and vanity purposes. I found this cute little plate at £2.99 (I think) which is a complete bargain and I now store a few of jewelery bits on it. Sadly this is sold out just now 😦
I am totally in love with all my pieces from H&M and I already have my eye on another few bits from the website; namely one of the copper baskets and more marble-ness!
Finally, Menswear has been another major trend this season. Already been spotted on the runway for Donna Karen, Emporio Armani, Antonio Beradi etc.. it is now hitting the high street with many menswear inspired styles from suit jackets and trousers to loafers. This trend takes a new spin on menswear with a feminine twist with structured and sophisticated looks perfect for the office environment. What do you think of this trend? This months pick of the month is this amazing cut out swimsuit from H&M. With summer approaching and many people getting ready to go on vacation in many different parts of the world everyone is looking forward to *hopefully* warm sunny weather that you can make a splash in ! Swim-wear is at a high at this time of the year especially this multicolored swirled design swimsuit from H&M which is at a bargain price of £12.99. Swimsuits are great if you’re not someone who likes to show off your figure in a bikini but this also shows a little skin from the cut outs at the side to give it a unique and youthful feel.
