Elie Saab:Couture Fall 2013

Paris Fashion Week came to a stunning close yesterday with the final Fall 2013 Couture collections taking to the runway. I have to admit there was a lot of excitement about yesterdays show for myself as one of  my favorite designers was back on the runway who of course is the fantastic Elie Saab.  This man never fails to impress with another after another spectacular collection and this time was no exception. Looking at the collection for the first time I was actually speechless, I have never seen such a perfect collection of clothes. It is always likely that looking at any designer collection you may find at least one piece of clothing that you are not fond of but for this Elie Saab collection I cant actually criticize any piece of clothing as every piece is pure perfection. The collection was royalty with a colour theme of ruby, emerald, and sapphire and gowns were sparkling with fine bead-work and embellishments.  With these exquisite designs I really do wish I was a famous celebrity so I could have the opportunity to strut my stiff in one of these gowns on the red carpet. This man is the wonder of fashion and completely in a league of his own. Spectacular. Are you a fan of this collection ? To see all the runway shots go to Style.com.  Credit to Style.com for images. Giambattista Valli:Couture Fall 2013

Paris Fashion Week has been ongoing this week with the couture collections now lining up the catwalk. The Giambattista Valli collection took to the runway yesterday full of glamour and femininity. The collection opened to a selection of white dresses expressing purity and innocence and then slowly adapted to floral designs and prints capturing the idea of glamour and femininity. The final pieces raised the bar with extravagant gowns in bold yellow and red. Overall a stunning collection with pieces that would not look out of place at a red carpet event. Are you a fan of this collection ? To see all the runway shots go to Style.com. Met Ball 2013:Best Dressed

Now its time for the best dressed… So here are my top 3 from the Met Ball 2013. What do you think ? Who was your Best Dressed ? Credit to bettyconfidential and Daily Mail (Getty,Startracks/Rex) for images.

Cara DelevingneFirstly, Cara Delevingne looked fantastic in Burberry. Cara has nailed on the punk theme here with this beautiful studded gown which features a plunging neckline. Cara has also went for a smoky eye look to add to the look and overall has successfully managed to look sensational with a bit of punk.

Anne HathawayNext is Les Miserables star Anne Hathaway. First of all I must say Anne looks great with the blonde hair and suits her very well. The blonde hair and dark eyes looks great in achieving the rebellious punk look. Anne looked great in a black vintage Valentino gown with feathered sleeves and mesh panels showing a bit of skin. Anne has clearly stuck to the punk here and looks great.

Sienna MillerLast but not least is Sienna Miller, Sienna rocked Burberry with a stunning white gown made complete with the killer gold studded biker jacket. Sienna has nailed the punk look complete with a studded silver headband, studded earrings and a small studded clutch. Overall Sienna owns the punk theme!

Met Ball 2013:Worst Dressed

The Met Ball in New York is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. Many A-list celebrities gathered in their couture gowns and some in their well interesting ensembles. This years theme was Punk a very popular trend around the 70s which was highly influenced from British designer Vivienne Westwood.  Not everyone makes the best impression at these sort of events and many were very downhill in the fashion stakes this year. Here below are my 3 worst dressed celebrities from the Met Ball. Do you agree? Who was your Worst Dressed ? Credit to bettyconfidential, omg.yahoo and Daily Mail (Rex,David Fisher ) for images.

Kate UptonFirstly, Kate Upton makes the list. The model failed to impress in this very frumpy looking green dress by Diane Von Furstenberg. Her hair also looks very messy as if she hasn’t even styled it. Not to mention the theme of punk in this outfit; seems rather invisible here. While she is very pretty, this dress does her no favors what so ever and this dress is too plain for the Met Ball aswell as not suited to the theme either.

Kim KardashianNext on the list, is mom-to-be Kim Kardashian. Kim wore a floral print Givenchy dress with a slit up the side, this dress is completely unflattering considering she is pregnant. The dress is tight to the figure and for someone who is pregnant that is a big mistake. There is no words to really describe this but she does look like she is wearing old curtains, the print is too much and for her figure not suited at all. And yet again were is the punk …

Miley Cyrus

And last but not least Miley Cyrus. First of all I have to credit her for actually dressing to the theme but I cannot really credit her for doing it well .. The hair speaks for itself really – over the top a bit and complete with the Marc Jacobs fish net dress it all seemed a bit more like for a fancy dress party rather than high end fashion.

Pick of the Month:March 2013

This months pick of the month is this Limited Edition Pearl Shift Dress from Topshop.  Spring has sprung (well just about) and that means brighter shades and shorter hemlines out in the sun. This dress is a perfect example of this and would look great at any formal event during spring/summer maybe even for a wedding. This dress has a beautiful pearl embellishment at the top and has a lovely floaty design perfect for the warm weather. As part of the Limited Edition range this dress costs £195/$390. Paris Fashion Week:Elie Saab Fall 2013 RTW

Fashion Week came to a stunning close this week as Elie Saab took to the runway for the final show. There was a lot of anticipation for this show not only as it was the finale of Fashion Week for Fall 2013 but this was Elie Saab, the man with the breathtaking designs who wows us every-time and this collection was no exception. For day-wear, Saab stuck to Navy and dark tones to create tailored and sleek looks with fitted jackets and wide peplums. For evening wear, things livened up a bit with brighter tones of limes and teals aswell as his usual detailed embellishments. Saab experimented a lot with lace and sheer tulle to create a more seductive look which he achieved very well in this collection. Overall, I feel that every season at Fashion Week I am always expecting to say that Elie Saab was the best of them all and that his collections will keep getting better and better and I have to admit I am very correct as all the time my expectations are getting higher and this is because the quality and the designs are always getting better. Elie Saab is one of a kind.   Here below are some shots from the runway show. Paris Fashion Week:Valentino Fall 2013 RTW

This collection sprung to myself as quite traditional looking with the sharp collars and shirt style dresses but with a modern twist with shorter lengths and bold prints. The traditional style of the dresses gives them that exquisite look and as if they are to be worn by those who are up-market or a little ‘posh’. As Fashion Week has approached its end this season its clear to see what trends have been created such as the popular prints and lace which both make appearances in this collection. Overall I have to say I really like this collection and the traditional look of it is something that particularly draws my eye to it especially the first dress from the show that I personally wouldn’t mind wearing .. Milan Fashion Week:Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013 RTW

Last week Dolce & Gabbana took to Milan Fashion Week with their Fall 2013 collection. The collection had an interesting Religious theme to it with notable religious figures regularly appearing throughout the show aswell as the cross symbol making an appearance. A mosaic design also played a part in the collection that was featured on many of the designs which gives another suggestion towards the religious theme symboling a church decor possibly. There was also very ladylike dresses with many lace numbers which are typical to D&G.  Here below are some shots from the runway show. Are you a fan of this collection ? New York Fashion Week:Badgley Mischka Fall 2013 RTW

As NYFW comes to a close, one collection that proved a hit was Badgley Mischka. After last season’s collection I have to say I have grown rather fond of the Badgley Mischka line and this season is no exception. This collection is very feminine with figure-hugging designs and embellished gowns. If I had to use one word to describe this collection it would be exquisite, the gowns are oscar-worthy and there is so much beautiful embellishments and detailing in this collection – Its fantastic!  Here below are some shots from the runway show.
