Marchesa RTW Fall 2015

Marchesa 4New York Fashion Week has officially wrapped. Before we leave the city that never sleeps its time to look back at another show from NYFW. This time its a designer with luxurious and the most stunning gowns that I’m sure we would all love to have in our wardrobes. It is of course Marchesa. Known for their extravagant and beautiful gowns made perfect for any red carpet, this collection does not disappoint.

This collection had a very elegant and feminine feel with a vision of the 1920s running through it. The beaded and embellished gowns and tops would not look out of place in the 20s era and the looks definitely had the old Hollywood style glamour theme. The hair and makeup also matched with the models sporting a soft curled look and a sultry feminine dark berry lip.

Marchesa is known for their floral designs and their wide tulle silhouettes. These norms did not escape in this collection. There was a heavy focus on poppies throughout the show with many looks incorporating the embellished floral design as well as following a red and black agenda. In addition there was also no escaping of their usual fuller sized dresses with the odd couple of sizeable gowns but other than that the collection was primarly sleek and embellished to the nines. Well Done Georgina and Keren! Check out the rest of the collection here.

The LBD: Day to Night

LBDHappy Friday everyone 🙂 So I was contacted by The Daily Look to get involved in their Little Black Dress: Day to Night Challenge. The Daily Look are going a little bit LBD crazy recently but who doesn’t love a good LBD, right? They have a great selection of Little Black dresses on their website for all occasions and styles to suit everyone, you can check out the fab range here . I have put together a little outfit for Day and Night using this cute LBD from the Daily Look.

For day, I have teamed this dress with an plaid shirt and some black ankle boots for that very chic but very casual look for daily wear as well as adding a cute little black bag. Then for night I have added the glitz and the glamour ooo. I have went for the black and gold combo (A true love of mine) with this amazing shimmery gold blazer to add that sparkle to the outfit as well as a simple but classy gold chain necklace and my favourite part… these gorgeous strappy peeptoe heels which are just divine. I need them now!

All of the above items I have used to put these outfits together are from the Daily Look which you can check out here, they have some sweet stuff!

So are you a lover of the LBD?

Elie Saab: Spring 2015 RTW

1 2 3 4If you have read my posts from previous seasons then you will see I am a huge fan of Elie Saab, I mean c’mon who isn’t! There is never a season were he fails to deliver, its spot on every season and this time is no exception. There was a little bit of a sporty vibe through some of the pieces in a subtle way with swimsuit inspired structures which matched the ‘Dive into the Deep Blue’ theme. It was also a very nice follow on from the previous seasons with similar patterns and structures however being slightly updated for the new season. There was a lot of lace inserts and cut-outs aswell as 70s style silhouettes which all appear to be big for SS15 – watch out! Again another fabulous collection from Saab, can I have it all please! 🙂

Burberry Prorsum: Spring 2014 RTW

London Fashion Week came to a close stunning close this week and one show in particular that was very anticipated was of course Burberry Prorsum. Christopher Bailey always puts on a spectacular show for the brand every season and this time was no exception. One thing I always admire about the Burberry shows is the beautiful location it is set in which resembles a large greenhouse – stunning! There seems to be typical spring patterns running through fashion week with of course pastel shades making an appearance especially in this collection. The collection is very ladylike and girly similar to many other shows we have seen previously sparking a new trend for next season.  The detailing in the collection definitely did not disappoint, the embellishments in some of the pieces were simply beautiful and the use of lace material expressed the femininity and glamour in this collection.  In previous years the Burberry brand has seen many negative stereotypes but with collections like these Burberry are most definitely on top of their game! Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.

Badgley Mischka: Spring 2014 RTW

New York is where it has all been happening as New York Fashion Week has sprung. We are nearing the end of NYC before the Spring 2014 looks hit the London catwalk and yesterday Badgley Mischka took to the runway. Spring was all over this collection with the idea of lounging by the French Rivera which this collection fitted to a tee. The early pieces shown were very luxurious looking and would look perfect lounging on a yacht with the royal blues and whites while the later pieces were more formal and beachy with pastel shades and mermaid silhouettes. Badgley Mischka always seems to get it right and this collection is no exception with a rather splendid view on Spring.  Below are some pieces from the collection. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.
