The Bag Wishlist

luxury-bag-wishlist-designer-saint-laurent-ysl-gucci-celine-valentino-chanel

I’ve always been a bag kinda gal at heart, bags over shoes anyday! My dreams of owning a designer bag have existed for too many years now and I think it’s time I did something about that, right!? Being a Leo, I do have expensive taste and I do like a little bit of luxury so whilst a designer bag may require a good few wage slips, it is still something I am happy to invest in. You either get it or you don’t but for me it’s the kinda thing I like. Having got hooked onto luxury style YouTube channels which I mentioned here, I am ready to take the leap into saving for my first designer bag. So what is it going to be, well I thought I would show you some (yes just some) of the bags that have topped my wishlist!

Starting with the bag of dreams, a Chanel Classic Flap. Every bag lover needs a Chanel, right!? Now the price for Chanel is eye-watering and sadly it tends to increase year on year making it near impossible to buy one. However hopefully one day, whilst it is not on my immediate list (for obvious reasons) I will be able to visit a Chanel store in Paris (yup, going all out!) and pick up my very own. Then I will be one step closer to being LC, life goals right there!

Another bag of dreams that I just need in my life is the Saint Laurent Sac De Jour. This bag is simply beautiful, black grained leather possibly in size small please. Again it is one of the more pricier options on my list but having this bag would make me complete. Hopefully I can save up for this one once I graduate as a special treat cause you gotta treat yo self.

Now I mentioned that I prefer my bags over shoes but if there was one pair of shoes I would like to get my hands on then it would be the classic Valentino Rockstuds. Of course with those I need a bag to match, it’s only right! I adore the Valentino Rockstud Lock Shoulder Bags, particularly the light nude pink-y shade which would match my shoes obviously! The bag just looks so beautifully elegant with the gold hardware, I need!

I usually tend to avoid seasonal pieces and trend-led items and I would particularly advice to when opting for a spendy purchase however I have my eye on one. The Gucci Dionysus Shoulder bag is a classic but I have never really been a fan of the whole Gucci monogram style however I adore some of their Floral design options. It is a bit different and totally a statement piece but it is so beautiful! I have been actually really impressed by some the newer Gucci styles recently too!

Lastly, a much cheaper option than the rest, the Celine Trio. I adore the whole minimalistic Celine aesthetics and I just love how simple but chic this bag is. Everyone needs a good crossbody small style bag and this is such a great option. The three compartments is also incredibly handy but I can imagine pretty annoying when you have to get your bag searched! A good all rounder though!

What is on your bag wishlist?

Chanel Rouge Coco Cecile

Chanel Rouge Coco Cecile Lipstick

Chanel Rouge Coco Cecile Lipstick SwatchAfter that nail polish purchase, it looks like I made another trip to the Chanel counter. I am getting pretty good at that now. If there is one item every beauty lover needs in their makeup collection it is a trusty Chanel lipstick. The luxurious black and gold packaging with the Chanel logo on the lid is ever so exciting to pull out of your handbag for reapplication. They really are so dreamy just to look at.

However at £26 a pop, they are pretty darn expensive! For a brand like Chanel however you could only expect a cost like that. Luckily for me though after building up my Boots Advantage Points over the last while I reached enough to pick up this beauty on points rather than pounds, score!

The timing couldn’t have been any more perfect too as Chanel just recently reinvented their lipstick range with a new formula and range of shades. The range is also very personal to Coco Chanel with each shade named after someone special in her life. After dabbling between a few, I finally picked Cecile, a soft rosy pink shade. As one of the pinks, these shades are to represent her best friends.

The formula is incredibly hydrating but also offers a good level of pigmentation. It is very creamy and smooth on application and they are pretty good in terms of long lasting especially for a moisturising and light lipstick. I now have my eyes on another few shades from the range, lets just say it won’t be long before I am at that counter again…

Have you tried the Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks?

Valentino RTW Fall 2015 Collection

Valentino Fall 2015 RTW Zoolander

Valentino Fall 2015 RTW Ben StillerFashion Week is finally over. It does feel like such a long time with so many shows over the four cities. Before we say goodbye though it is time to look at one last show from Paris Fashion Week. This time it is in the form of Valentino a show that I always look forward to seeing. I really took to Valentino over the past while, they just seem to create such simplistic but beautiful clothing. This collection followed the same concept.

Now this show was a major talking point and you may be familiar with it already. It wasn’t about the fashion this time, eyes were focused on the appearance of two familiar faces at the end of the show. Zoolander actors Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller made an appearance in the show in full Zoolander character as they announced a sequel to the original film. The reception of the audience was incredible and definitely added a bit of fun into fashion week.

Nevertheless, this collection has other memorable factors that made this show a winner. There was a strong classic monochromatic style running through the show particularly at the start with black and white checkered and striped pieces as well as plain over-sized pieces. Knits and fur also made their way onto the runway as well as lace and leather details. Things started to get a bit brighter midway and towards the end with multi-colored prints featuring butterflies and flowers as well as the odd dragon (why not?). The show featured many beautiful embellished details and simplistic structured silhouettes. Another great collection for Valentino. *loud applause* Check out the rest of the collection here.

Elie Saab RTW Fall 2015

Elie Saab Fall 2015 RTW 1

Elie Saab Fall 2015 RTW 2

Elie Saab Fall 2015 RTW 3

Elie Saab Fall 2015 RTW 4If there is one show I get the most excited at seeing at Fashion Week it is always without a doubt Elie Saab. Elie Saab is known for his beautiful detailed gowns worn by a host of celebrities at red carpet events. Lets just say if I could only ever own one piece of designer clothing, an Elie Saab dress would be top of the list every time! Every collection has impressed me incredibly with his range of exquisite clothing and this Fall 2015 collection seemed pretty good too…

There was no doubting over whether this was a collection for Fall as the show opened to an array of dark shades with all-black styles and the odd splash of khaki green. The start of the show was very sophisticated and echoed a smart work wear style with a slight nod to military style. For this part of the show the focus was on the structure and silhouette of the pieces before things started to get a tad more creative. Flashes of blue and teal shades appeared alongside floral and forest like prints.

The style then changed from work style to more glamour and femininity. Floral patterns, lacy patterns and embellished details starting to take shape on the runway. This is when the real Elie Saab we know and love came back to life. Embellished brighter toned gowns started to form the end of the show. There really is no other way to describe the pieces than stunning, as usual each and every piece was a beauty. If I’m honest, it wasn’t my favourite Elie Saab collection but it was still a dreamy collection! Check out the rest of the collection here.

Versace RTW Fall 2015

Versace 1

Versace 2

Versace 3

Versace 4Versace is a brand I have always admired in terms of their creative direction (and their perfumes!) but in terms of their collections they never really scream out to me personally until I seen this collection for Fall 2015. The show started out very simple and chic with a collection of black pinstripe office style wear with suits, jackets and pencil skirts. Each look had a slight pop of colour injected which seemed to be an indication of what was to come.

Thereafter was an explosion of colour onto the runway. Bold hues took over through a collection of capes and coats with 60s style wide belts. The 60s theme continued with a range of geometric prints and the silhouettes took an interesting turn with cutouts and high slits up the leg. The collection certainty carried the Versace name not only through the style but it was clearly emblazoned on a number of pieces through the collection.

The end of the show was really the wow moment for me. Mainly black based mini dresses and sheer tops featuring rainbow hued embellishments stole it for me. Donatella certainty showed her inspiration of the digital age with hash-tag and ‘@’ symbolism embellished on the designs. Karlie Kloss sported the winner for me with a sheer top halved dress featuring a range of Technicolor embellishments which certainly was a fresh take on the classic LBD. The collection was bold, bright, current and had the Versace name all over it (literally). Check out the rest of the collection here.

Burberry Prorsum RTW Fall 2015

Burberry Prorsum 1

Burberry Prorsum 2

Burberry Prorsum 3

Burberry Prorsum 4When it comes to London Fashion Week there is always one show I cannot wait to see, in fact its a show I am probably the most excited about for the whole of fashion week over all four cities. Nothing quite comes close to the show that Christopher Bailey puts on for Burberry Prorsum. Oh the things that I would do to get the chance to attend a show, a girl can dream, right!? As usual there was no disappointment in this collection and only added countless pieces to my “if I get rich wishlist”.

The collection was appropriately named “Patchwork, Pattern and Prints” and it was just that. There was quite a 60s boho chic vibe from the show with fringed ponchos and floral designs that had the hippy era written all over them. An Indian theme was also echoed throughout the collection through fringed details sported on skirts to boots and the use of suede was also apparent. Of course being a Burberry show there was indeed the classic trench coats which were seen featuring a range of floral designs.

Makeup wise, it was kept to a minimum. Models donned a fresh faced look with a soft smokey eye and nude lips. Overall, as usual another incredible show from Christopher Bailey and my favourite Fall 2015 collection from fashion week (so far). Check out the rest of the collection here.

Marchesa RTW Fall 2015

Marchesa 1

Marchesa 2

Marchesa 3

Marchesa 4New York Fashion Week has officially wrapped. Before we leave the city that never sleeps its time to look back at another show from NYFW. This time its a designer with luxurious and the most stunning gowns that I’m sure we would all love to have in our wardrobes. It is of course Marchesa. Known for their extravagant and beautiful gowns made perfect for any red carpet, this collection does not disappoint.

This collection had a very elegant and feminine feel with a vision of the 1920s running through it. The beaded and embellished gowns and tops would not look out of place in the 20s era and the looks definitely had the old Hollywood style glamour theme. The hair and makeup also matched with the models sporting a soft curled look and a sultry feminine dark berry lip.

Marchesa is known for their floral designs and their wide tulle silhouettes. These norms did not escape in this collection. There was a heavy focus on poppies throughout the show with many looks incorporating the embellished floral design as well as following a red and black agenda. In addition there was also no escaping of their usual fuller sized dresses with the odd couple of sizeable gowns but other than that the collection was primarly sleek and embellished to the nines. Well Done Georgina and Keren! Check out the rest of the collection here.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria RTW Fall 2015

HL 1 HL 2 HL 3 HL 4

Before I head straight into the high fashion craziness that is fashion week I just wanted to say a big thank you to all my lovely wordpress followers as I have just reached 300 followers, so thank you so much 🙂

Anyway, February only means one thing. Nope not Valentines Day or Pancake Day, nope it is of course the start of fashion week! Fashion Week for Fall 2015 finally kicked off this week in New York and I will be sharing some of the highlights here. Now if I uttered the words ‘Herve Leger’ there is probably one thing you and most people are all thinking: the bandage dress. Herve Leger is famed for their figure-hugging bodycon dresses which were quite the thing a few years back with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and pretty much everyone rocking one. Times have slightly moved on though as that trend slowly passed.

The bandage dress however still holds a place in the Herve Leger collection but with a slight twist and a much better one. Many dresses stuck to the similar bandage dress design with embellished features. The collection was quite varied from the biker embellished look to the full on prints. There were bold kaleidoscopic style prints and much more toned down monochrome and darker heavy embellished style dresses. Instead of the usual tight-fitting silhouette, this collection has a varied style with a-lines and peplum hemlines. The typical bandage dress may have had its day but full on prints and change are here to stay! Check out the rest of the collection here.

Elie Saab: Spring 2015 RTW

1 2 3 4If you have read my posts from previous seasons then you will see I am a huge fan of Elie Saab, I mean c’mon who isn’t! There is never a season were he fails to deliver, its spot on every season and this time is no exception. There was a little bit of a sporty vibe through some of the pieces in a subtle way with swimsuit inspired structures which matched the ‘Dive into the Deep Blue’ theme. It was also a very nice follow on from the previous seasons with similar patterns and structures however being slightly updated for the new season. There was a lot of lace inserts and cut-outs aswell as 70s style silhouettes which all appear to be big for SS15 – watch out! Again another fabulous collection from Saab, can I have it all please! 🙂
