Not that long ago Couture fashion week for Fall 2014 kicked off in the fashion capital: Paris. Couture week has to be my favorite for the glamour and exquisite gowns. And one designer who I absolutely adore and matches this description very nicely is Elie Saab. As usual this collection was perfection and I have no faults or negatives to say. The whole collection was designed for Night with stunning gowns and embellished cocktail dresses. Saab experimented with pearls and ombre effects which linked to his Fall 2014 RTW collection were it also made an appearance. Overall a beautiful collection, if only I could get my hands on all these dresses! What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.
Paris Fashion Week came to a stunning close yesterday with the final Fall 2013 Couture collections taking to the runway. I have to admit there was a lot of excitement about yesterdays show for myself as one of my favorite designers was back on the runway who of course is the fantastic Elie Saab. This man never fails to impress with another after another spectacular collection and this time was no exception. Looking at the collection for the first time I was actually speechless, I have never seen such a perfect collection of clothes. It is always likely that looking at any designer collection you may find at least one piece of clothing that you are not fond of but for this Elie Saab collection I cant actually criticize any piece of clothing as every piece is pure perfection. The collection was royalty with a colour theme of ruby, emerald, and sapphire and gowns were sparkling with fine bead-work and embellishments. With these exquisite designs I really do wish I was a famous celebrity so I could have the opportunity to strut my stiff in one of these gowns on the red carpet. This man is the wonder of fashion and completely in a league of his own. Spectacular. Are you a fan of this collection ? To see all the runway shots go to Style.com. Credit to Style.com for images. P.S Happy Fourth of July to you all!!
Paris Fashion Week has been ongoing this week with the couture collections now lining up the catwalk. The Giambattista Valli collection took to the runway yesterday full of glamour and femininity. The collection opened to a selection of white dresses expressing purity and innocence and then slowly adapted to floral designs and prints capturing the idea of glamour and femininity. The final pieces raised the bar with extravagant gowns in bold yellow and red. Overall a stunning collection with pieces that would not look out of place at a red carpet event. On Sunday evening as well as the Grammys of course it was also the BAFTAs in London which was attended by many A-list celebrities hoping to pick up an award for their acting efforts. Without further a do here is my top 3 looks from the evening. What do you think ? Who was your best dressed? Credit to Metro(PA) and Daily Mail (Rex, Joanne Davidson) for images.
Marion Cotillard shone bright wearing a bright yellow Christian Dior Couture gown. This dress had mixed reviews with many criticizing the open panel but I really like this dress and it is quite quirky which is what I like about it. You may also recognize this dress from the SAG Awards were Jennifer Lawrence wore it in a navy shade which took the headlines as it was believed she had a malfunction on her way to collect her award. Anyway I think Marion looked lovely and I really like the bright yellow colour of this dress.
Next is the lovely Anne Hathaway who looked stunning in this gorgeous gold studded Burberry gown. This dress is so simple but looks amazing especially with Anne’s pixie hair cut which works well together. Anne has also kept accessories to a minimum by just sticking to simple gold bangles which are great against the dress and also keep the simplicity in the look which i love.
Last but not least is the lovely Gemma Arterton in this beautiful Celia Kritharioti Couture 2013 Asymmetrical striped gown. This dress is stunning similar to Anne Hathaway the thing I love about this is the simplicity in the outfit as not only is it a simple but amazing looking gown it has also been toned down with minimal accessories. Gemma just looked fantastic!
Hello everyone! Before we start can i just say that it was the blog’s 3rd birthday yesterday!!! Yay!! So i have to say Thank you to all the lovely subscribers/ followers or whatever you would like to classify yourself as so thank you very much and I hope you enjoy reading the blog! Anyway enough of the birthday thanks and celebrations as the countdown to NYFW begins here is a look at the Christian Dior Spring Couture Collection that was shown at Paris Couture Fashion Week last week. There seemed to be a floral theme running through the show as the runway was designed with plants and greenery as well as many of the designs featured in the collection having a floral touch or spring feel to them with bright yellows and reds. The collection also features the gown that Jennifer Lawrence wore to the SAG awards last week which of course made the headlines due to her ‘malfunction’ which happened just before accepting her award. Here below are some shots from the runway show. Are you a fan of this collection ? To see all the runway shots go to Style.com. Credit to Style.com for images.
Recently in Paris, Couture Fashion Week has been ongoing. This is one of my favorite things in the fashion world to look forward to seeing all the amazing Haute couture collections. One of my favorite designers is of course the mazing Elie Saab who also creates the most stunning dresses I have ever seen. There isnt really much to say about this collection except from : Breathtaking. Here below are some shots from the runway show. Are you a fan of Elie Saab ? This week in Paris the Fall Couture collections have been on show and one designer i am always looking forward to seeing is the wonderful Elie Saab. Elie Saab is known for his breathtaking shimmering gowns and that has not gone forgotten in this couture collection. There was of course a high level in crystal and sequins used as usual and beautiful lace and jacquard designs. Below are some of my favorite looks from the collection. Credit to Style.com for images.
Another designer who stole the show at Paris Couture Fashion Week was Jean Paul Gaultier. This collection was all over the tabloids and in the headlines due to its collection being influenced by Amy Winehouse. The collection had the fifties style which was favored by WInehouse as well as the models sporting her trademark beehive hairdo and bold eye makeup and her beauty spot. Many thought this was a great tribute to Amy and i think that as well but one person in particular wasn’t too happy about it which was her dad who said ‘It portrays a view of Amy when she was not at her best, and glamorises some of the more upsetting times in her life,’ Her friend Kelly Osbourne also said it was “lucratively selfish and distasteful”. What do you think ? What is a good tribute or was it distasteful ? Go to style.com for the rest of the collection. Credit to Style.com for images. P.S Can i also add this is my 100th post on the blog so thank you to everyone for contributing ! 😀
