Grammy Awards 2014: Best Dressed

Sunday saw the biggest stars in music hit the red carpet for music’s biggest award ceremony in some spectacular gowns. Below are my top 5 looks from the Grammys. What do you think? Who was your best dressed from the Grammys?

Anna FarisFirst on the list is actress Anna Faris who looked fantastic in this simple but chic Royal Blue Fitriani gown.

Anna KendrickFellow actress Anna Kendrick also looked amazing in this white embellished Azzaro dress.

BeyonceNext, Beyonce looked spectacular in this white and nude lace dress by Michael Costello which flattered her amazing figure ever so well and was well suited with a red lip.

Chrissy TeigenChrissy Teigen looked shimmering in this strapless glittery Johanna Johnson gown. I want to wear this, that is all!

Miranda LambertAnd last but not least is country singer Miranda Lambert who looked stunning in this plunging red Pamella Roland gown which excelled in old Hollywood glamour.

Met Ball 2013:Best Dressed

Now its time for the best dressed… So here are my top 3 from the Met Ball 2013. What do you think ? Who was your Best Dressed ? Credit to bettyconfidential and Daily Mail (Getty,Startracks/Rex) for images.

Cara DelevingneFirstly, Cara Delevingne looked fantastic in Burberry. Cara has nailed on the punk theme here with this beautiful studded gown which features a plunging neckline. Cara has also went for a smoky eye look to add to the look and overall has successfully managed to look sensational with a bit of punk.

Anne HathawayNext is Les Miserables star Anne Hathaway. First of all I must say Anne looks great with the blonde hair and suits her very well. The blonde hair and dark eyes looks great in achieving the rebellious punk look. Anne looked great in a black vintage Valentino gown with feathered sleeves and mesh panels showing a bit of skin. Anne has clearly stuck to the punk here and looks great.

Sienna MillerLast but not least is Sienna Miller, Sienna rocked Burberry with a stunning white gown made complete with the killer gold studded biker jacket. Sienna has nailed the punk look complete with a studded silver headband, studded earrings and a small studded clutch. Overall Sienna owns the punk theme!

Met Ball 2013:Worst Dressed

The Met Ball in New York is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. Many A-list celebrities gathered in their couture gowns and some in their well interesting ensembles. This years theme was Punk a very popular trend around the 70s which was highly influenced from British designer Vivienne Westwood.  Not everyone makes the best impression at these sort of events and many were very downhill in the fashion stakes this year. Here below are my 3 worst dressed celebrities from the Met Ball. Do you agree? Who was your Worst Dressed ? Credit to bettyconfidential, omg.yahoo and Daily Mail (Rex,David Fisher ) for images.

Kate UptonFirstly, Kate Upton makes the list. The model failed to impress in this very frumpy looking green dress by Diane Von Furstenberg. Her hair also looks very messy as if she hasn’t even styled it. Not to mention the theme of punk in this outfit; seems rather invisible here. While she is very pretty, this dress does her no favors what so ever and this dress is too plain for the Met Ball aswell as not suited to the theme either.

Kim KardashianNext on the list, is mom-to-be Kim Kardashian. Kim wore a floral print Givenchy dress with a slit up the side, this dress is completely unflattering considering she is pregnant. The dress is tight to the figure and for someone who is pregnant that is a big mistake. There is no words to really describe this but she does look like she is wearing old curtains, the print is too much and for her figure not suited at all. And yet again were is the punk …

Miley Cyrus

And last but not least Miley Cyrus. First of all I have to credit her for actually dressing to the theme but I cannot really credit her for doing it well .. The hair speaks for itself really – over the top a bit and complete with the Marc Jacobs fish net dress it all seemed a bit more like for a fancy dress party rather than high end fashion.

London Fashion Week:Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013 RTW

So London Fashion Week has finally came to a close and the most anticipated show of course was Burberry Prorsum that took to the runway yesterday with many celebrities such as Rita Ora, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Beckinsale taking to the front row. As usual Christopher Bailey did a spectacular job with this collection and the whole show overall was up to a high level as it always is. The collection showed traditional and classic designs inspired by Burberry’s history including the classic Trench coat which is always making an appearance but were given a modern update with leather, rubber and even a bit of animal print. The collection also featured other animal inspired prints  and heart prints to bring in a little sassy to the show. Overall a fantastic show and If I could then i would be buying everything haha!  Here below are some shots from the runway show. Are you a fan of this collection ? New York Fashion Week:Victoria,Victoria Beckham Fall 2013 RTW

Recently NYFW has been ongoing and one of the designers to preview their next collection was Victoria Beckham who showed both her main line and her diffusion line.  This collection has a heavy influence from menswear with  layered button up shirts and suit style dresses. The image of the brand seems to have stepped up a level since the last collection as the girly girl image of the brand seems to be long gone and replaced with masculine and sophisticated looks. The colours also appear dark to continue this masculine look with no girly colours in sight. Here below are some shots from the runway show. Best Dressed of the BAFTAs 2013

On Sunday evening as well as the Grammys of course it was also the BAFTAs in London which was attended by many A-list celebrities hoping to pick up an award for their acting efforts. Without further a do here is my top 3 looks from the evening.  What do you think ? Who was your best dressed? Credit to Metro(PA) and Daily Mail (Rex, Joanne Davidson) for images.

Marion CotillardMarion Cotillard shone bright wearing a bright yellow Christian Dior Couture gown. This dress had mixed reviews with many criticizing the open panel but I really like this dress and it is quite quirky which is what I like about it.  You may also recognize this dress from the SAG Awards were Jennifer Lawrence wore it in a navy shade which took the headlines as it was believed she had a malfunction on her way to collect her award. Anyway I think Marion looked lovely and I really like the bright yellow colour of this dress.

Anne HathawayNext is the lovely Anne Hathaway who looked stunning in this gorgeous gold studded Burberry gown. This dress is so simple but looks amazing especially with Anne’s pixie hair cut which works well together. Anne has also kept accessories to a minimum by just sticking to simple gold bangles which are great against the dress and also keep the simplicity in the look which i love.

Gemma ArtertonLast but not least is the lovely Gemma Arterton in this beautiful Celia Kritharioti Couture 2013 Asymmetrical striped gown. This dress is stunning similar to Anne Hathaway the thing I love about this is the simplicity in the outfit as not only is it a simple but amazing looking gown it has also been toned down with minimal accessories. Gemma just looked fantastic!

Best Dressed of the Grammy Awards 2013

It was a busy night last night with both the Grammy Awards in LA and the BAFTAs in London. Firstly the Grammy Awards were a hit with many stars coming out on top in the fashion stakes. Below are my 4 favorite looks from the night.  What do you think ? Who was your best dressed? Credit to Daily Mail (Getty Images,Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP) for images.

RihannaThis has got to be my favorite of them all. Rihanna. Similar to last year the pop princess has stole the show again in this stunning red custom Azzedine Alaia dress. Her hair looks amazing as well and her loose waves compliment the red dress nicely as well as the red lipstick which brings the whole look together.

BeyonceNext, Beyonce looked fantastic in this Osman pantsuit which is right on trend with the Monochrome look.  One thing i love about this is that she has chose to be original and instead of going for a gown she has went for the trendy and unique pantsuit which she looks stunning in.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry also adds to the list who looked glamorous in a gorgeous mint green Prada gown. The dress had a stunning embellished neckline and a keyhole cutout at the top to add attention and detail to the simple but yet amazing gown.

Carrie UnderwoodAnd last but least was country singer Carrie Underwood who vowed in this stunning black Roberto Cavalli gown. This dress just oozes class and glam, its simply incredible. The dress has beautiful lace detail and was topped off with a stunning diamond necklace which is worth a staggering $31 million. Wow!

Christian Dior:Couture Spring 2013

Hello everyone! Before we start can i just say that it was the blog’s 3rd birthday yesterday!!! Yay!! So i have to say Thank you to all the lovely subscribers/ followers or whatever you would like to classify yourself as so thank you very much and I hope you enjoy reading the blog! Anyway enough of the birthday thanks and celebrations as the countdown to NYFW begins here is a look at the Christian Dior Spring Couture Collection that was shown at Paris Couture Fashion Week last week.  There seemed to be a floral theme running through the show as the runway was designed with plants and greenery as well as many of the designs featured in the collection having a floral touch or spring feel to them with bright yellows and reds. The collection also features the gown that Jennifer Lawrence wore to the SAG awards last week which of course made the headlines due to her ‘malfunction’ which happened just before accepting her award. Here below are some shots from the runway show. Are you a fan of this collection ? To see all the runway shots go to Style.com. Credit to Style.com for images.

Best Dressed Women of 2012

Hello Everyone !! Happy New Year!! Its 2013! Now since 2012 has came to a close its time to review the year we left behind. There was some major fashion fails and fashion highs last year. Looking back at 2012 i have decided upon 3 of my best dressed celebrities. So here goes:

RihannaFirstly, Our pop princess Rihanna has made the list. What is there to say? Absolutely stunning! My favorite look of hers is from the Grammy’s (above) which shows how much she can achieve from this effortless look. One thing that Rihanna does effectively is she manages to look seductive but keeps it classy and elegant.

"The Hunger Games" - Los Angeles PremiereNext on the list is the breakthrough star of 2012 in not just fashion but also in acting, the stunning Jennifer Lawrence. The Hunger Games star is someone to look out for this year as she keeps surprising us with stunning looks that we would all die for. My favorite look of hers is from the Hunger Games Premiere were she looks incredible in this gold shimmering gown.

Emma StoneAnd last but not least the lovely Emma Stone concludes our list. The star of the Amazing Spider-man has had a very stylish year and is someone we can look forward to seeing again at the upcoming award ceremonies. She always manages a young and playful look but always achieves to look elegant and mature like above in this stunning Burberry Prorsum combination. And i wouldn’t mind a pair of her Atwood pumps …
