Autumnal Eyes

Autumnal Eye makeupThe part of my makeup routine that I enjoy most is doing my eyes. Especially since Autumn came into play, I have been loving a little more dramatic eye makeup look. When I first got into makeup, eye makeup was always the scary part for me and looking back now I do slightly worry what I looked like when I left the house! Although I would like to think that I have upped my skills since then! Anyway over the last while I have been reaching for a variety of eyeshadows from singles to palettes all in my usual brown, warm toned shades so I thought I would share my top picks for the season.

The Palettes

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette – This was an obvious one. I raved about this last week here if you missed it. This is such a perfect Autumnal eye palette with more dark and smoky shades fit for a more dramatic look. Who would have thought I would be rocking a smoky eye but this palette makes it easier and more wearable to create something a little smoky even if its just for everyday wear. The palette also has a mix of both cool toned and warm toned shades so its super versatile and the looks are endless.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette – Another highly raved about palette from moi, check my full review here. This is Autumn in an eyeshadow palette. I believe this palette can be a little tricky to get a hold of sometimes but I so recommend this to anyone. The quality of the shadows are fantastic with a good mix of shimmers and mattes and the shades are super beautiful too. Ooo and did I mention its a complete bargain too!

The Creams

Maybelline Colour Tattoos (On and On Bronze/ Metallic Pomegranate) – One of my favourite drugstore eyeshadow formulas has to be these cream shadows from Maybelline. The formula is a dream to work with, they are super easy to apply with a smooth creamy formula that applies so evenly. The colour options are also gorgeous, in particular the bronze and plum-y red shade which are ever so fit for the Autumn months!

Max Factor Excess Shimmer (Bronze) – Another fabulous drugstore cream formulation comes from Max Factor. These differ slightly from the Maybelline shadows as the Excess Shimmers have a more mousse cream like formula. I find these eyeshadows completely underrated as they are truly a unique product to the drugstore that could be worth so much more. The mousse-y formula is so lovely and the shades are gorgeous especially Bronze which is a perfect warm toasty brown with incredible pigmentation that is basically Autumn in a jar.

The Powders

H&M Eyeshadow (Robusta) – I spoke about the highly raved H&M beauty line here and mentioned my love for this eyeshadow.  The colour Robusta is a shimmery gold-y bronze shade that would look gorgeous as the festive season creeps in. The quality of these are great too and super impressive for such a budget line.

Burberry Wet & Dry Silk Shadow (Midnight Brown) – Are these not the most beautiful looking eyeshadows you have ever seen!? I sadly only have one shade (not for long I imagine!) although it’s such a gorgeous colour. I have the shade Midnight Brown which is a lovely soft shimmery brown which can be worn sheerly or built to be more intense. The formula is great too and blends really nicely on the lid.

What is your go-to eye looks for Autumn?

Brands I Want To Try More Of

Brands I want to try more from

One of my favourite bloggers Rebecca of From Roses did a post a while back talking about some of the brands that she wanted to try more from. I totally loved the concept of the post and I thought why not do my own version. My beauty collection consists of groups of products from the same brand and then the odd ones that I’ve picked up from different brands which I’ve not really explored much further. There are so many beauty brands out there that I would love to try out more from with a range of well-loved and adored products.

Burberry: I only first dabbled into the world of Burberry beauty recently when I picked up one of their eyeshadows. They are one of the most desirable designer beauty brands out there in my opinion. Every one of their products is so beautifully packaged but also well though out. The range is a perfect size too; not too small but not too big that its overwhelming. If I had to pick one product to try out it would be their Fresh Glow foundation. The name ‘Fresh Glow’ is just screaming out to me, I can imagine such healthy flawless skin. With lightweight bases becoming ‘my thing’ I would also love to try their BB cream which again sounds so radiant and glowy. Lastly, I am still calling out for Pale Barley eyeshadow to be part of my collection, another blogger enabled purchase eh?

Clinique: You may recall my first pick ups from the Clinique line in my last post. As I said before I have been pretty impressed with the Clinique makeup range, it seems pretty appealing. I am still wanting to try out more shades from the Lip Pop range and the Cheek pop range. Although my most coveted product I would love to try is the Contour Chubby Stick, it looks like such an easy way to contour and it’s about time I got one of those chubby stick things! Also as Clinique is a skincare brand I do have good expectations for their base products. After seeing Lisa Eldridge using it in one of her videos, I would love to try the Redness Solutions base product which sounds super appealing to my skin. Also with the theme of redness I would love to try the Superprimer Face Primer which boasts a range of different primers to help correct different skin problems. Again I would love to try out the primer for helping redness as it’s something my skin still needs to combat.

L’Oreal: My only drugstore pick comes from L’Oreal. Honestly I only own two products from L’Oreal, a foundation and an eyeshadow, shocker? I don’t really know why I haven’t dabbled into the world of L’Oreal so much to be honest although I would like to try out some more of their products. Their mascaras are always highly raved about so I would love to try them out, any suggestions? Their new Infallible Matte Foundation also got a lot of loving this year when it was released in the UK so whilst matte foundations aren’t usually my thing I would love to give this one a try.

Hourglass: The brand with the most gorgeous products ever. Wow. I am still struggling to take in how beautiful their blush is. Speaking of which, I would love to get my hands on a couple more of these gorgeous blushes namely Mood Exposure and Incandescent Light. The blush formula is just so beautiful and these shades look super gorgeous. I would also love to get my hands on one of their Nude Lip Stylos particularly shade 1 which looks like a gorgeous nude pink. I am also desperate to find out what all the fuss is about with the Ambient Lighting Powders. The shade Diffused Light sounds perfect for my pale complexion. Although have you guys seen the Holiday 2015 palette!? Talk about NEED!

Chanel: The brand for the beauty lovers out there. I feel like every beauty enthusiast needs a little Chanel in their life. My Chanel wishlist is pretty much never-ending but I do have a few that make my top picks. Their Vitalumiere Aqua foundation sounds so perfect. A lightweight base which creates a glowy healthy complexion. The dream base. Their iconic Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powder is probably my most wanted Chanel product. A fine powder encased in the most gorgeous packaging. I am not the biggest powder lover but I feel like this may change my opinion. I am also loving the look of their quad eyeshadow palettes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a gorgeous little palette!

Smashbox: I am a huge fan of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, easily the best primer I’ve used ever. Although strangely it’s the only product I’ve tried from the brand. As their Primers are their most iconic product and I absolutely love the Photo Finish, I would like to try a couple more from the brand. Particularly the Blemish Control Primer and the Colour Correcting Primer which both sound interesting? Also anyone tried the Primer water? Pretty intriguing. Their palettes look super pretty too! I was so close to picking up the Full Exposure palette on holiday but sadly it was sold out. I would really like to try the Double Exposure palette though which has a little pop of colour but nothing too overboard. Lastly, their Contour Sticks look super good. Jaclyn Hill is a huge fan and they look super easy to use and the soft formula sounds great.

Have you tried any of these products? What brands do you want to try more from?

Spring Wishlist

Spring WishlistForever making wish-lists… Yup its time for another! With Spring just around the corner and the nights getting lighter and the sun appearing *shocked face* its time to rock the fresh glowy faced look with touch of coral (ah dreamy <3). Anyway as usual when it comes to wishlists (well mine anyway) its full of expensive guilt-worthy high end products I don’t really need but hey they would be nice 🙂 Now on to the list…
Nars Sheer Glow – I apologize if I keep batting on about how much I want this one in my life. I think its probably been in every wishlist I’ve created and I’ve still not bought it *oops!*. Anyway this one will officially be ticked off this season as I have a SpaceNK voucher and I need this so it makes sense, right!?
Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir – Ahh beautiful! I am forever hearing about the beauty that is Jo Malone fragrances. I went to the Jo Malone counter not too long ago to have a little sniff around and spotted this popular but beautifully scented gem. Its not the most spring-y scent but I like it and I want it, nuff said.
Burberry Pale Barley Eyeshadow – Can you tell I am forever a suck up to blogger hype!? I keep seeing this beauty everywhere and it looks ever so beautiful. Its always described as the ‘one wash wonder’ eyeshadow which seems great for me on my morning rush. Its a pricey one but its Burberry and its damn beautiful!
Benefit Majorette Blush – Another one I’ve had on the wishlist for too long! This was released last year and I am still hearing good things about it. It really is the perfect spring blush; coral with a cream-to-powder finish, perfection it seems!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat – I have yet to take the plunge into anything Hourglass yet mostly because they are quite far out of my budget but c’mon! These blushes truly are gorgeous as well as pretty much every other Hourglass product! Again this glowy blush looks perfect for Spring and a great intro to the Hourglass brand!
So what is on your spring wishlist?

Burberry Prorsum RTW Fall 2015

Burberry Prorsum 1

Burberry Prorsum 2

Burberry Prorsum 3

Burberry Prorsum 4When it comes to London Fashion Week there is always one show I cannot wait to see, in fact its a show I am probably the most excited about for the whole of fashion week over all four cities. Nothing quite comes close to the show that Christopher Bailey puts on for Burberry Prorsum. Oh the things that I would do to get the chance to attend a show, a girl can dream, right!? As usual there was no disappointment in this collection and only added countless pieces to my “if I get rich wishlist”.

The collection was appropriately named “Patchwork, Pattern and Prints” and it was just that. There was quite a 60s boho chic vibe from the show with fringed ponchos and floral designs that had the hippy era written all over them. An Indian theme was also echoed throughout the collection through fringed details sported on skirts to boots and the use of suede was also apparent. Of course being a Burberry show there was indeed the classic trench coats which were seen featuring a range of floral designs.

Makeup wise, it was kept to a minimum. Models donned a fresh faced look with a soft smokey eye and nude lips. Overall, as usual another incredible show from Christopher Bailey and my favourite Fall 2015 collection from fashion week (so far). Check out the rest of the collection here.

January Playlist

IMG_6139Having a lot of time off recently for Christmas has made me spend a large part of my time listening to music. With the Christmas music far, far away, this month I’ve been listening to some old favourites and some newbies in the music scene. I have been loving ‘Something I need’ by the X Factor winner Ben Haenow who did a superb cover of the One Republic hit. I also discovered the talented gem that is James Bay who actually performed at the Burberry S/S 2015 show, Burberry always show some amazing artists and I can see James being an artist to watch out for in 2015. I also rediscovered the 1975 with their album being played on repeat the whole month. I also can’t forget to mention Uptown Funk, what a tune!

What have you been listening to this month?

Burberry Prorsum: Fall 2014 RTW

London Fashion Week is coming to a close but before we jet set to Milan, one of the most anticipated shows from Fashion week happened yesterday which was of course Burberry Prorsum. Every season at Fashion Week, Christopher Bailey puts on a magnificent show and this season was no exception. Every season the Burberry brand seems to grow and take new risks with Bailey able to push the boat out a little each time. Instead of a typical collection full of different styled trench coats we are now seeing a change to oversized shearling trimmed jackets, capes and wrap dresses as well as the occasional blanket. The collection strongly featured prints of hand painted work that showed a slight cultural inspiration. The collection overall was sophisticated and classy with long lengths and high waisted styles. What do you think of this collection? The rest of the collection can be viewed at Style.com.

Met Ball 2013:Best Dressed

Now its time for the best dressed… So here are my top 3 from the Met Ball 2013. What do you think ? Who was your Best Dressed ? Credit to bettyconfidential and Daily Mail (Getty,Startracks/Rex) for images.

Cara DelevingneFirstly, Cara Delevingne looked fantastic in Burberry. Cara has nailed on the punk theme here with this beautiful studded gown which features a plunging neckline. Cara has also went for a smoky eye look to add to the look and overall has successfully managed to look sensational with a bit of punk.

Anne HathawayNext is Les Miserables star Anne Hathaway. First of all I must say Anne looks great with the blonde hair and suits her very well. The blonde hair and dark eyes looks great in achieving the rebellious punk look. Anne looked great in a black vintage Valentino gown with feathered sleeves and mesh panels showing a bit of skin. Anne has clearly stuck to the punk here and looks great.

Sienna MillerLast but not least is Sienna Miller, Sienna rocked Burberry with a stunning white gown made complete with the killer gold studded biker jacket. Sienna has nailed the punk look complete with a studded silver headband, studded earrings and a small studded clutch. Overall Sienna owns the punk theme!

London Fashion Week:Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013 RTW

So London Fashion Week has finally came to a close and the most anticipated show of course was Burberry Prorsum that took to the runway yesterday with many celebrities such as Rita Ora, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Beckinsale taking to the front row. As usual Christopher Bailey did a spectacular job with this collection and the whole show overall was up to a high level as it always is. The collection showed traditional and classic designs inspired by Burberry’s history including the classic Trench coat which is always making an appearance but were given a modern update with leather, rubber and even a bit of animal print. The collection also featured other animal inspired prints  and heart prints to bring in a little sassy to the show. Overall a fantastic show and If I could then i would be buying everything haha!  Here below are some shots from the runway show. Are you a fan of this collection ?
