Best Dressed of the BAFTAs 2013

On Sunday evening as well as the Grammys of course it was also the BAFTAs in London which was attended by many A-list celebrities hoping to pick up an award for their acting efforts. Without further a do here is my top 3 looks from the evening.  What do you think ? Who was your best dressed? Credit to Metro(PA) and Daily Mail (Rex, Joanne Davidson) for images.

Marion CotillardMarion Cotillard shone bright wearing a bright yellow Christian Dior Couture gown. This dress had mixed reviews with many criticizing the open panel but I really like this dress and it is quite quirky which is what I like about it.  You may also recognize this dress from the SAG Awards were Jennifer Lawrence wore it in a navy shade which took the headlines as it was believed she had a malfunction on her way to collect her award. Anyway I think Marion looked lovely and I really like the bright yellow colour of this dress.

Anne HathawayNext is the lovely Anne Hathaway who looked stunning in this gorgeous gold studded Burberry gown. This dress is so simple but looks amazing especially with Anne’s pixie hair cut which works well together. Anne has also kept accessories to a minimum by just sticking to simple gold bangles which are great against the dress and also keep the simplicity in the look which i love.

Gemma ArtertonLast but not least is the lovely Gemma Arterton in this beautiful Celia Kritharioti Couture 2013 Asymmetrical striped gown. This dress is stunning similar to Anne Hathaway the thing I love about this is the simplicity in the outfit as not only is it a simple but amazing looking gown it has also been toned down with minimal accessories. Gemma just looked fantastic!

Milan Fashion Week:D&G Spring 2012

Now its time to move to Milan where already many Global designers have took to the scene to display their Spring 2012 rtw collections to the world. One of those collections that have been shown is the D&G label’s Spring 2012 collection designed by Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce. This collection is just amazing and definitely took the clashing prints look into mind. There is a great use of colours including greens, yellows and orange which give it that spring/summer feel but its the prints that take over. The pieces use a variety of different designs including paisley pattern and there is a wide use of floral which has been seen all over the runway. Credit to Style.com for images. Best of London Fashion Week S/S 12

I can’t believe Milan fashion week has started already! London went by so fast its crazy so much fashion has took over my brain right now. Many top designer collections have been shown over the days of LFW including Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Temperley London and Matthew Williamson. There has been many great surprises over the length of the week so now its time to share the best bits of LFW. Hover over images  for designer. Credit to Style.com for images.

Favorite Looks of LFW

Favorite Collection

This one was a tricky decision as i loved a lot of the collections but i have to say Mulberry. I loved the colours used and the sweaters with the maxi skirts and of course the big hair ! 🙂 Everything was great !

Favorite Underdog

One of my favorite things about Fashion Week is seeing those littler known designers against the big popular ones. Of course the underdog of LFW for me had to be Mary Katrantzou who i think i am obsessed with now ! I had first heard of Mary Katrantzou when i found her dress on net-a-porter which is the September Pick of the Month and now i just love her after seeing her Spring 2012 collection, the prints used in the designs are amazing and her pieces are very creative. I love it !

Favorite Trend

There has been a variety of trends at Fashion Week and one of my favorite not just from Spring 2012 but a current one right now is Brights. I love the way its stayed from this spring right into next spring and who doesn’t love colour it’s not just great to wear but also its great to represent who you are. Yellow looks to be a popular colour for Spring 2012 with numerous designers using it in their collections.

What do you think ? What was your favorite of London Fashion Week ?

P.S All above opinions are my own. We all have different opinions on things so no one needs to agree with me but i hoped you like it  🙂

NY Fashion Week:Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2012

One of todays big shows was of course Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 Collection. To be honest this collection wasn’t my favorite of all his collections but i still managed to find some interesting and unique pieces. The collection had a variety of inspiration ranging from sports (which also seemed to appear in Victoria Beckham’s line – maybe an upcoming trend!) plaid and prints. The collection also had a nice collection of swim-wear and the collection like other ones seen at Fashion Week again used the bright colours which seems to be staying in for quite a while. Like Beckham he used a good use of orange and blue which could be hot colours for Spring 2012.  Overall there is some nice pieces in the collection but it isn’t my favourite out of his. NY Fashion Week:BCBG Max Azria Spring 2012

So NY Fashion Week has kicked off since yesterday and we have seen some top designers spring 2012 collections on the runway. One of those was the BCBG Max Azria collection which hit the runway on the launching date of the 8th September. Looking at the runway overall there is a variety of strong bold colours still staying in from this season including blues, oranges and yellows. Most of the pieces  include a zig zag and line design. I personally think its a very interesting collection and the pieces are very unique from the structure and i love the colours aswell.   What do you think of the collection ? Pick of the Month:July 2011

This months pick of the month is these pair of gorgeous high waisted shorts from Miss Selfridge. Since summer is in brights are taking over our wardrobe and this is a perfect addition with its bold and in trend coral colour. I came across these shorts in the Fabulous Magazine and i loved them and they were paired with a lovely blouse aswell. When i checked to see where they were from it said Miss Selfridge so i checked up online and I found them ! And even better after being £28.00 they are now reduced to £15 !! Woo Hoo ! 🙂 but the only bad thing is that atm only sizes 6 and 16 are in stock so other sizes may have to wait.  Credit to Miss Selfridge for image.

A-Z of Fashion. D- Denim

How could we ever live without Denim. Its a large staple in everyone’s wardrobe especially mine I literally live in my jeans and i really don’t know what i would do without them! Whether its denim jeans, shirts, skirts etc..  life would just be boring without Denim ! Below I have selected J Brand 811 mid-rise twill cropped skinny jeans from Net-a-Porter in a variety of different colours. Each are £205 or $175 from Net-a-Porter.com. I just love the colours they are amazing and are perfect for the colour block trend this season. Credit to Net-a-Porter for images.

Festival Fashion

As Glastonbury is already under way millions of people are hitting the shops for the finest looks to wear to all the great music festivals over the world.  I have a teamed a cute outfit perfect for dancing in the mud and rain. Playsuits are huge this summer and are always a hit at festivals so nothing can go wrong with this cutie beauty from Matalan for a stealer at £18 ! And you can team it with this amazing plastic raincoat from ASOS which comes in 3 colours Yellow, Blue and Red at £50.00 – it may seem expensive but it’s perfect not just for festivals but for everyday wear and it has a very stylish look.  And of course to complete the outfit you just can’t go to a festival without some awesome wellies. This outfit has some Hunter Gloss Red Wellington Boots from John Lewis at £37 to give it that festival feel.  Hover over pictures for prices and shops. Primark Spring/Summer 2011

I had recently had found some pictures of high street store Primark’s Spring/Summer collection and i love them and of course the prices. There is a lot of colour blocking through the pieces which i like as it is my favorite trend at the moment and i just love the pieces. I really want the Colour Block midi dress and the striped jersey midi which looks rather similar to last month’s pick of the month from Topshop  but actually i want the whole collection 🙂
