Social Media & Blogging Update

Blogging Social Media AccountsHello everyone 🙂 I wanted to do a little update post just to share a few things with you all and also let you know of my existence in the world of social media. So firstly, I would like to thank everyone who follows me on any platform. I reached 400 followers on WordPress not too long ago as well as 200 on Bloglovin, so thanks so much! Also, I would like to thank everyone that tagged me in a blog award post, its feels super nice for anyone to think of my blog so thank you. Although, I would also like to apologise for not being able to make any related blog posts on those awards over the last few months. Since I have been sticking to a blogging schedule I haven’t really had the time to fit them in but I really do appreciate all the nominations! Lastly, I also want to share with you all my social media accounts. I have linked them below if you want to give me a little follow, I will certainly follow you back!

The Me Time Tag

Me Time Tag
Time for another tag 🙂 I do enjoy a good bit of me-time, just being able to chill, do nothing and most importantly not worry about completing any essays or uni coursework! I thought I would try out the ‘me-time tag’ so do enjoy and try it it out yourself!
1. What do you like to watch or read during me-time?

I do love reading a good selection of blogs both on WordPress and Bloglovin. In terms of books I am not the biggest reader but I did get some John Green Books a while back and have started to dig my way through them. Watching wise you can never go wrong with Friends! I also like to spend my spare time catching up on programmes such as Glee and 2 Broke Girls.

2. What do you wear during me-time?
Pyjamas, Pyjamas, Pyjamas. If I could wear pyjamas all day every day I would. I love Jack Will’s selection of nightwear, their leggings are so comfy and pretty. I also love a good comfy hoodie 🙂
3. What are your favourite me-time beauty products?
A good face mask never goes a miss! I’ve been alternating recently between the Lush Mask of Magnaminty and the Glam Glow Super-mud mask which both make my skin feel super soft.
4. Current favourite nail polish?
Tricky one! I never really have one single favourite nail polish but I am currently totally in love with Essie Maximillian Strasse Her and Chanel Tenderly (more of them two later!).
5. What do you eat or drink during me-time?

Anything that is really bad for me! I love a bit of nutella on toast and a Cadburys Hot chocolate with whipped cream ❤ If I am feeling that little bit more nutritional then I will go for some sliced apples with peanut butter.

6. Current favourite candle?
Tricky one again. I love my candles. I love anything sweet so one of my favourites is the Yankee Candle in Vanilla Cupcake, its so sweet and smells incredible. I am also loving the Diptyque Mimosa candle which smells so fresh and clean.
7. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?
Not unless its summer and its warm outside when I might go a walk.
8. Would you ever go and watch a film alone?
Probably not. I am not much of a film watcher and don’t really go to the cinema much but if there was a movie I really wanted to see I would maybe go alone but I would probably go to a far away cinema not local so no one would spot me haha!
9. Favourite online shop?
You can’t go wrong with a bit of ASOS! They have such a wide selection of brands and there is always something for everybody. I also have quite the habit of checking the ‘New In’ section on the Topshop website on a daily basis. If I am feeling quite adventurous I will check Etsy for some DIY inspiration.
10. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?
I spend a lot of time looking and dreaming over images on Pinterest, sad life I know. I also use my time to check the great world of social media, fun!

Staying Organised

IMG_5805Today marks a difficult day for me, first day back at uni after Christmas break. Okay well I won’t be feeling too bad knowing that many of you will have been back studying or working earlier this month but nevertheless the painful thought of another 12 weeks of lectures, essays and studying is enough to feel uneasy. Something I can take pride in is being organised, I am one of those annoying individuals that has to plan everything carefully and write everything down but when it comes to uni, school, work or even blogging a little organisation comes in handy!

1. Plan ahead – Being off on Christmas break for a while has been handy as its time to get organised for the next semester or preparing my blog schedule. Take a note of every major task that is due in the next few months i.e. essays, blog posts and take a note of the deadline so you can see what needs to be prioritised and when you can begin to work on it. Its a good idea to buy a notebook, I use mine to write down my list of assignments for the semester as well as my monthly blogging schedule.

2. Keep a diary – As deadlines loom you want to ensure you are able to commit to completing tasks on time so keep a diary and take note of all deadlines and note down when these tasks will be completed. This means no clashing with social events or any other deadlines that crop up at work/school/uni. This allows you to manage your time effectively and know what times you can work and when you can also have time to yourself.

3. Prioritise – Leading on from the first point ensure that tasks that are required more quickly are completed before others. There is no point writing a blog post for February when you haven’t even completed the posts for the week ahead. By putting the right tasks first means there is no rushing to finish them.

4. Keep it clean – It can be even more stressful if you are working around a messy and untidy environment so ensure your desk or work area is kept neat and organised. This can help motivate you to work harder and not get in such a panic. It is also a good idea to keep motivational images around your workspace, remind yourself of the benefits of your work and what they can help you achieve.

How do you keep organised?

My 2015 Resolutions

IMG_5624I could start this post with the cringy quote of “New year, new me” but I think I’ll pass on that one. Anyway its 2015! How crazy! Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all had a nice New Years whatever you got up to. So to start 2015 I have came up with a few resolutions of what I want to achieve this year. We all make new years resolutions and a couple of weeks later we forget them but I have made realistic aims so hopefully they won’t disappear into thin air… like previous years.

1. Live a more healthy and active lifestyle – Okay, okay we all say this right!? However last year (feels weird saying that!) I did take up a spot of running in the mornings during Summer, crazy I know. So hopefully while its a bit chilly to go for a run just now I am hoping to get my running gear back on for the warmer months. Last year I also became a little more cautious over what I was eating so hopefully this year I can continue that but also cut out more fats and learn to cook more healthy meals.

2. Improve my photography skills – Now I hope you can’t tell that I take my blog photos with my iPhone 4S… oops! I do own a digital camera however its pretty useless so I’m stuck with an also useless phone camera. Hopefully I will have some better lighting in the year (new lightbulbs! haha) and maybe even indulge in a new camera!

3. Continue to improve my blog – I have had this blog since 2010 (crazy how time flies!) and I have only really began to get blogger serious this year. Last year was probably the biggest year for me blogging as I changed my fashion based blog to be more beauty based and a bit of lifestyle so I would like to continue to keep up with my blog and also hopefully get to connect more with other bloggers – Hello 🙂

4. Improve my skincare routine – Again in 2014 I only began to take my skincare a little more seriously but I would like to add to it as I do suffer bad breakouts quite a lot and I want to ensure I have healthy glowing skin!

5. Look after and embrace my hair more – My hair and I. A love-hate relationship. I have the frizziest and curliest hair and I just am no fan. I can never leave my house in the morining and come back later with the same hair, it always ends up a disaster – I’m blaming fresh air. Okay well I can’t really blame nature but I want to be able to style my hair better and find better hair products that can make my hair healthier and nicer. Yes nicer.

So what is your New Years resolutions?

My Top 5 Favourite Bloggers

IMG_5017Being in the world of blogging has got me obsessed with reading blogs. Since I created a Bloglovin, I can’t stop reading beauty blogs and watching Youtube videos from all my fave bloggers/vloggers. For me, it always helps for a little inspiration when I have bloggers’ block and I have no idea of what to blog about and for trying out new products. I never try a new product without reading reviews from blogs, is that just me? Anyway here is my top 5 bloggers who I just love having a good read at:

1. Lily Pebbles – Probably my favourite blogger. Lily does some great review posts and I just totally admire her effortless style – its so up my street! I am also a huge fan of her videos, she does some great tutorials and some fun vlogs.

2. Vivianna Does Makeup – There is no Lily without Anna. Her and Lily are the perfect beauty duo. Anna also does some fab tutorials and reviews and her videos with Lily truly are the best!

3. Essie Button – How could I not mention Estee! If you haven’t watched one of her videos you are missing out, I love Estee’s blog but nothing beats her youtube videos were her fun and vibrant personality comes alive! Can I please go shopping with this girl, like seriously!! 🙂

So who are your fave beauty/fashion bloggers?

Liebster Award Nomination

liebsterHello everyone, unexpected post today after I was very kindly nominated for the first time for the Liebster Award *yay* by the lovely Clare, Thank you very much it means a lot to be recognised for my blog so thank you. Please do check out Clare’s blog here, she does some fabulous beauty reviews so please do have a look! As I said before this is the first time I’ve been nominated so I wasn’t entirely sure how this works but its created for recognising small and new blogs and to give them the opportunity to be more involved and grow in the blogging world.

So here are the rules:

1. A link to the blog you were nominated by, and a note to say thank you.
2. The award itself.
3. The answers to the questions given to you by the person you were nominated by.
4. Your list of 11 nominees (they must have less than 1000 followers on their blog).
5. A list of questions you would like your nominees to answer.
6. The list of rules for the award.

And here are my questions from Clare:

1. What’s your favourite TV show at the moment?

Ah difficult one, I have been watching episodes from all different TV shows and I am quite behind but one show that is probably my favorite and I cannot miss is Glee. Glee is my guilty pleasure and I can’t wait for the next season 🙂

2. What’s your favourite high end brand? And why.

Another difficult one, I would probably say Mac. I don’t think I could live without my Mac lipsticks they are perfect the formula and they are great for everyday wear.

3. What’s your favorite high Street brand? And why

I would say Soap and Glory, I just started using their makeup line not too long ago and its amazing. Their products are at the more expensive side of high-street products but the quality is amazing.

4. Lip gloss or lipstick? And why

This is an easy one, lipstick all the way! I am no fan of lip-gloss what so ever, its too sticky and eugh but I love my lipsticks especially my Mac ones!

5. Eye liner.. Liquid or pencil? And why

Liquid definitely, I used to be terrible at eyeliner and I soon got my hands on the liquid felt tip liners and once I started using them eyeliner is a breeze!

6. Why did you start your blog?

I started it a few years back originally as a fashion blog because I loved fashion and it was something I wanted to do as a career. I think the idea of blogging came from reading fashion magazines and I just kind of wanted to be that person who could be like the magazine editors and write about trends etc.

7. What perfume are you wearing at the moment?

Herve Leger – Intrigue, not really a favorite of mine to be honest. I am just trying to use it up haha!

8. What song are you obsessed with at the moment?

Crash Land by Twin Atlantic.

9. What foundation are you currently using?

Rimmel Match Perfection in the shade Light Porcelain however I think its too light for me oops!

10. What’s your favourite candle scent?

Anything cinnamon!!!

11. Where do you see your blog in a year?

Oooo, very unsure about this. I just hope that as time goes on my blog can continue to grow and have more recognition.
