June Fashion News

Hello everyone! Firstly I would just like to notify you all of some changes to the blog. You may know this blog under the name of 4everfashion however the blog has had a bit of revamp and will now be called ‘STYLED’ but the url address for the blog will remain the same @ https://4everfashion.wordpress.com. The layout of the blog will also look a little different which I hope you agree with me in the sense that it feels fresher and more up-to-date. As well as that post wise, I have decided to add to the blog a bit more and dip into different areas such as music, food and travel which I hope to introduce and post about in the near future however do not worry this blog will remain to focus mainly on fashion and style. I hope you all appreciate the new changes to the blog and please feel free to comment or send feedback on the blog, I will be happy to take any criticisms and improvements that you may have as after all this blog is for you all to read! Any way enough of me blabbering on, I thought I would introduce more fashion news to the blog that you may all be interested in and this post is exactly what this is. Below are some top stories from this month particularly this week associated with the fashion world.

1. LCM kicked off

LCM(London Collections:Men) kicked off last week and finished yesterday showcasing all the Spring/Summer 2014 menswear collections from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Burberry Prorsum. Menswear has seen a boost in popularity in recent years with the menswear market anticipated to grow by 16% between 2011 and 2016. 134 designers took part in LCM SS14 in shows, presentations & events from Sunday to Tuesday with international fashion press on the scene witnessing it all. Below is a picture from the Burberry Prorsum show and all collections can be viewed on Style.com.

2. Alexander McQueen to release fragrance

Calling all Alexander McQueen fans! For all those who adore the McQueen fashion house and cannot afford the wealthy items or for those who can afford it well there is great news for all as it has been confirmed that the British fashion house has signed a licensing deal with P&G Prestige to launch a fragrance for both men and women. There is no release date for the new scent yet but work is stated to begin immediately. Creative Director, Sarah Burton stated after announcing the deal  ‘Creating a fragrance feels like a natural progression as it enhances the world of Alexander McQueen, I’m very excited by this opportunity to collaborate with P&G Prestige, to work together to create a scent that captures the unique sensibility of the house.’ How exciting!! So who will be joining me in queuing up for the new fragrance once released!?

3.Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana found guilty of tax evasion

And the last piece of news today is the news of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the founders of fashion house Dolce and Gabbana who today were found guilty of tax evasion and have each been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison. The lawsuit links to the house’s 2004 sale of its D&G lines to Luxembourg-based holding company Gado Srl which Italian authorities believe was a way of evading Italy’s high taxes that are charges that the designers have strongly denied. However designers are expected to appeal against the decision.

Best Dressed of the Academy Awards 2012

Last night was the biggest award event of the year ; it was the Oscars ! There is always so much anticipation over who will win what but another question that is on everyones minds is ‘Who will .. be wearing’ and last night we finally got to see all the celebs dressed to perfection. There was a lot of winners but still a lot of sinners. So lets stay positive first here is my favorite 3 looks of the night.  What do you think ? Who was your favorite of the night ? Credit to Daily Mail (Getty Images, Splash and Reuters) for images.

My first favorite is Jessica Chastain wearing Alexander McQueen. I love this dress ! Its so beautifully designed with its gold hand-embroidered bodice and design. One of the things i love the most about this look is that i think the black and gold colours of the dress go perfect with her red hair its just amazing. The attention of this look is obviously on the very detailed dress so Jessica has kept the accessories to a minimum with simple bangles and drop earrings.

Another one of my favorites is Michelle Williams wearing Louis Vuitton. I just love Michelle Williams she dresses so ladylike but with a modern twist which suits her so well. This coral-red gown has a peplum waist with a red band and silver bow giving it that cute side. It also has a lovely ruffling skirt which is just beautiful. Her hair and makeup has been done so neat and simple but perfect for the dress. She has also kept to a simple silver chain necklace and pink clutch to add more to the look but it is keeping it just right.

And Finally last but not least is Milla Jovovich wearing Elie Saab. 2 words : Hollywood Glamour , This is glamorous; Perfect sweeped back brunette hair, red lipstick , silver jewelery and a simple but stunning white gown. I don’t even know what to say its just gorgeous.

The Best of the Royal Wedding Fashion

Forget the wedding dress , i have chose 3 of my favorite  looks from the big day. The first one of course is Kate’s stunning sister Pippa Middleton who looks amazing in this Alexander McQueen gown. She looks so sleek and perfect and the dress suits her so well. My second look is the style icon herself Mrs Victoria Beckham who also looked so sleek and Perfect in this gorgeous navy dress which was of course from her own design and an interesting Philip Treacy hat who seemed to be a popular one with the hats.  Finally , last but not least as this has to be my favorite look is singer Joss Stone who looked amazing in an simple pink shift dress with matching jacket and a of course a nice hat to add a finishing touch.  What was your favorite look of the day ?

Kate’s Dress Revealed

After months of speculation of who was going to be designing Kate Middleton’s Wedding dress it was finally revealed that it was indeed Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. The dress which had a high waisted full skirt with lace top looked absolutely amazing on her i have to admit ! It wasn’t something i would pick for myself but it was just simply stunning on her and it was nearly identical to Grace Kelly’s(below) wedding dress when she got married back in 1956 to the Prince of Monaco. I am very glad that it was Alexander McQueen as this is a great tribute to him and i am sure he would have loved it. What do you think ?
