Pick of the Month:July 2013

One trend that has been growing in popularity lately is dungarees. Dungarees or overalls have been making a comeback recently after their massive popularity during the 70s and 80s and have now been spotted on celebs such as Rihanna, Keira Knightley and Alexa Chung. This trend has also been on the catwalk with designers such as Henry Holland and Philip Lim having them as pieces of their collection. Dungarees are a perfect staple piece for your wardrobe this summer especially if you are going to a music festival. These dungarees below are a shorter version and are in an acid gray colour from ASOS. For shorter dungarees wear with a cropped tank or short sleeved top and for longer dungarees a longer sleeved top looks great especially Breton tops which rock the vintage style. What are your thoughts on dungarees? Follow the blog on twitter @4everfash. Credit to ASOS for image.

Elie Saab:Couture Fall 2013

Paris Fashion Week came to a stunning close yesterday with the final Fall 2013 Couture collections taking to the runway. I have to admit there was a lot of excitement about yesterdays show for myself as one of  my favorite designers was back on the runway who of course is the fantastic Elie Saab.  This man never fails to impress with another after another spectacular collection and this time was no exception. Looking at the collection for the first time I was actually speechless, I have never seen such a perfect collection of clothes. It is always likely that looking at any designer collection you may find at least one piece of clothing that you are not fond of but for this Elie Saab collection I cant actually criticize any piece of clothing as every piece is pure perfection. The collection was royalty with a colour theme of ruby, emerald, and sapphire and gowns were sparkling with fine bead-work and embellishments.  With these exquisite designs I really do wish I was a famous celebrity so I could have the opportunity to strut my stiff in one of these gowns on the red carpet. This man is the wonder of fashion and completely in a league of his own. Spectacular. Are you a fan of this collection ? To see all the runway shots go to Style.com.  Credit to Style.com for images. Giambattista Valli:Couture Fall 2013

Paris Fashion Week has been ongoing this week with the couture collections now lining up the catwalk. The Giambattista Valli collection took to the runway yesterday full of glamour and femininity. The collection opened to a selection of white dresses expressing purity and innocence and then slowly adapted to floral designs and prints capturing the idea of glamour and femininity. The final pieces raised the bar with extravagant gowns in bold yellow and red. Overall a stunning collection with pieces that would not look out of place at a red carpet event. Are you a fan of this collection ? To see all the runway shots go to Style.com. Summer Playlist

Summer is pretty much here and one thing we all look forward to is beach parties and BBQs all complete with the perfect summer playlist. Below I have put together a little collection of songs that will definitely be on my playlist this summer.

One of my favorite tracks this year has been the collaboration between Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I with their Number 1 hit Blurred Lines. The video may have cause some controversy but there is no denying that this song is extremely catchy and enough to put anyone in a good dancing mood.

One of the best feelings of summer is the feeling of freedom and time to relax and do whatever you want with your friends (well nothing too rebellious) and this song nails this to a T! I Love It by Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX is another hit for your playlist this summer and is something you will be singing along to in no time!

After making the chart hit ‘Thrift Shop’ the duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are back again with hit ‘Can’t hold us’ which proves to be a hot hit this summer. This catchy tune will be a must for the dance floors wherever you are in the world and is sure to be a summer party hit!

And the final addition to my Summer playlist is the feel-good hit ‘Get Lucky’ by Daft Punk feat Pharrell. This hit has been huge so far and will be even bigger when the sun starts to hit and the parties begin. This song is a MUST for all summer playlists so get it on yours now!

June Fashion News

Hello everyone! Firstly I would just like to notify you all of some changes to the blog. You may know this blog under the name of 4everfashion however the blog has had a bit of revamp and will now be called ‘STYLED’ but the url address for the blog will remain the same @ https://4everfashion.wordpress.com. The layout of the blog will also look a little different which I hope you agree with me in the sense that it feels fresher and more up-to-date. As well as that post wise, I have decided to add to the blog a bit more and dip into different areas such as music, food and travel which I hope to introduce and post about in the near future however do not worry this blog will remain to focus mainly on fashion and style. I hope you all appreciate the new changes to the blog and please feel free to comment or send feedback on the blog, I will be happy to take any criticisms and improvements that you may have as after all this blog is for you all to read! Any way enough of me blabbering on, I thought I would introduce more fashion news to the blog that you may all be interested in and this post is exactly what this is. Below are some top stories from this month particularly this week associated with the fashion world.

1. LCM kicked off

LCM(London Collections:Men) kicked off last week and finished yesterday showcasing all the Spring/Summer 2014 menswear collections from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Burberry Prorsum. Menswear has seen a boost in popularity in recent years with the menswear market anticipated to grow by 16% between 2011 and 2016. 134 designers took part in LCM SS14 in shows, presentations & events from Sunday to Tuesday with international fashion press on the scene witnessing it all. Below is a picture from the Burberry Prorsum show and all collections can be viewed on Style.com.

2. Alexander McQueen to release fragrance

Calling all Alexander McQueen fans! For all those who adore the McQueen fashion house and cannot afford the wealthy items or for those who can afford it well there is great news for all as it has been confirmed that the British fashion house has signed a licensing deal with P&G Prestige to launch a fragrance for both men and women. There is no release date for the new scent yet but work is stated to begin immediately. Creative Director, Sarah Burton stated after announcing the deal  ‘Creating a fragrance feels like a natural progression as it enhances the world of Alexander McQueen, I’m very excited by this opportunity to collaborate with P&G Prestige, to work together to create a scent that captures the unique sensibility of the house.’ How exciting!! So who will be joining me in queuing up for the new fragrance once released!?

3.Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana found guilty of tax evasion

And the last piece of news today is the news of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the founders of fashion house Dolce and Gabbana who today were found guilty of tax evasion and have each been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison. The lawsuit links to the house’s 2004 sale of its D&G lines to Luxembourg-based holding company Gado Srl which Italian authorities believe was a way of evading Italy’s high taxes that are charges that the designers have strongly denied. However designers are expected to appeal against the decision.
