February Favourites

February Favourites BeautyAnother month over, another collection of well-loved beauty products. This time around, most of the mentioned products have been in my stash for a bit of time so it was about time I sparked some love for them!

First up will be no surprise if you seen my review post here, it is of course the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I absolutely love this eyeshadow palette. This was my first time trying the ever popular Too Faced eyeshadow range and I have to say I have been left very impressed! The formula of these shadows are incredible; super buttery, smooth and long lasting. The palette itself is well up my street being the perfect collection of warm neutral shades that can create so many gorgeous wearable looks.

Another eyeshadow love comes from Charlotte Tilbury and is her Colour Chameleon eyeshadow stick in the shade Champagne Diamonds. I mentioned this back in a CT haul I did and at that time I liked it but wasn’t necessarily obsessed or blown away by it. I picked it up again this month and started to see the appeal in this pretty little eyeshadow stick. The shade was something that I wasn’t too impressed with at first as it did appear pretty sheer although building it up over the lid it creates a gorgeous wash of a pearl-y champagne shade that looks perfect with a more intense lip. It is one of those products that does require sharpening which is a little annoying but nevertheless it’s a beauty and I need more in my stash!

Continuing on with eyes, I found a new mascara love this month. This was my first time trying anything from MUFE but after picking up their Smokey Extravagant mascara, I need more of their products in my life! I don’t think it will ever beat the Benefit They’re Real although I am impressed by it and have been reaching for it all month. It adds a lot of length to my lashes and volume, a pretty good all-rounder mascara really for everyday wear.

There was one base product that received a lot of loving throughout the month and that was the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. I am a huge fan of the Nars concealer and after using that up I was adamant about trying the highly raved UD concealer. I will be doing a separate post containing the two so look out for that soon! Firstly, starting with the negative, I picked up the wrong shade! I did the silly thing and picked this up online so got a shade that is a little too dark for me. It is still usable but it would be better reserved for the summer months when I have a little more colour. Other than that the formula is really nice, super blend-able and good coverage!

On to lips, I am currently obsessed with two products from Clarins. Firstly, the Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil has been my go-to at night for adding a layer of nourishment to my lips. I just love this stuff and it really gives your lips the perfect boost of hydration! Also, the new Instant Light Lip Perfecting Base was calling my name since it was first announced. I basically picked this up as soon as it was released and I am pretty happy I did. I had been looking for a decent lip balm for under lipstick for a while and I think I’ve found it! It feels super moisturising on the lips without being too much so is comfortable and a great base for lip products.

Finally, I couldn’t do a favourites post without a lipstick, right!? I’ve been reaching for Mac Amorous lately and I am obsessed. At first I was feeling a little ‘meh’ towards the shade although after pairing it with Mac Soar, it created the most gorgeous shade. A plum-y berry shade in my favourite Satin finish which feels comfortable and adds a nice pop of colour to any look!

What have you been loving this month?

  1. I just started using the UD Naked concealer and I don’t love it… it oxidizes terribly on me. I have the shade light neutral and it looks orange and too dark on me once it oxidizes. I guess that’s one of those things you can’t tell until you try a product.
Thanks for the reminder about the Clarins Lip Comfort Oil – I got that in November and have only used it a couple of times – oops!

    • Thats too bad! I have that shade too and it is a little too dark for me which is so annoying! I haven’t had any bad experience though with the formula luckily but it is hard to get the most out of it when the shade is wrong haha! No bother, I am loving the Clarins oil!
