Building a Mac palette is beauty goals in life. I have been desperate to start a Mac palette for the longest time although with the high cost of building one it did put me off for a long while but I am slowly working on building my Mac eyeshadow collection. So far, I have now finally completed my little quad palette with four shadows that I was always looking to try from the range. The shadows don’t necessarily go together although I am not really fussed as soon enough it will be transported into a bigger palette and I also picked those that I simply liked the look of individually.
The first two shades I picked up were Cork and Blackberry, an unusual selection for me since both are matte formulas considering I love a bit of shimmer! Although both are eyeshadow staples that everyone needs in their collection. Particularly the first shade, Cork which is a pretty medium warm brown shade that is the perfect colour for warming up the crease. It is a warm toned shade that will work alongside a lot of other shadows and will not go a miss! It can also be used for brows and also even contouring (so I’ve heard anyway).
Blackberry is another matte shade, this time a soft plum shade which is gorgeous for adding a little colour to the eyes without being over the top. Again this one works best blended into the crease to add a little more definition. It is still one I need to get more use out of but looks like it would work well with the shades in the Tartelette palette.
Two newer additions to my quad are definitely my favourites from the bunch and I know will be long term favourites. Firstly is the popular Amber Lights, a gorgeous orange-y copper shade that has a frosted finish. This is such a beautiful eyeshadow and has a lovely smooth texture that applies nicely on the lid. It is also super pigmented and definitely a must-have Mac eyeshadow! A shade that goes perfectly in the crease alongside Amber Lights also happens to be the last shadow to make up my quad, Texture. Texture is the most perfect warm toned orange-y brown which is so perfect as a transition/crease shade or even all over the lid itself for a pretty wash of colour. This is definitely one of my favourite eyeshadows just in general, it is just so versatile and the formula is super buttery and blends beautifully!

You picked awesome shades! I really love Blackberry. My first MAC quad had Club, Vex, and a couple other shimmers/frosts. LOL. I can’t find it now 😦

Cork is a shade that I’ve been meaning to get. It’s looks like it’d be really nice in the crease like you said.
My first MAC eye shadows are still my favourites: Satin Taupe, Patina, Vex, and All That Glitters!
